Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Gravity Data Spreadsheets Gravity Data Spreadsheets

These gravity data spreadsheets are Microsoft Excel documents containing functions that convert observed meter readings to gravity using the meter calibration table (for LaCoste & Romberg relative-gravity meters), applies a tide correction, calculates and plots drift using the Roman (1946) method, and calculates average gravity differences between each station pair.

Brecchia pipe uranium mine bird survey data, Grand Canyon region, 2014-2015 Brecchia pipe uranium mine bird survey data, Grand Canyon region, 2014-2015

Containment ponds at uranium mines in the Grand Canyon region have been suspected to pose an attractive nuisance to local wildlife in this arid landscape. To determine the presence of bird species at uranium mine openings, we surveyed the bird community in the area surrounding the mines repeatedly within one year and summarized species occurrence. We observed 35 species of birds directly...

Pesticide and transformation product concentrations and risk quotients in U.S. headwater streams Pesticide and transformation product concentrations and risk quotients in U.S. headwater streams

This dataset includes a subset of previously released pesticide data (Morace and others, 2020) from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Assessment Program (NAWQA) Regional Stream Quality Assessment (RSQA) project and the corresponding hazard index results calculated using the R package toxEval, which are relevant to Mahler and others, 2020. Pesticide and...

Remotely sensed bathymetry and field measurements from the Colorado River near Lees Ferry, Arizona, September 23, 2019 Remotely sensed bathymetry and field measurements from the Colorado River near Lees Ferry, Arizona, September 23, 2019

To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using a polarizing lidar sensor, lidar and field measurements were collected on the Colorado River near Lees Ferry, Arizona on September 23, 2019. This parent data release includes links to child pages for the following data sets: 1) Lidar data used for mapping channel bathymetry (depth), acquired with a novel...

UAS-based remotely sensed bathymetry and field measurements from the Colorado River, near Parshall Colorado, June 13, 2019 UAS-based remotely sensed bathymetry and field measurements from the Colorado River, near Parshall Colorado, June 13, 2019

To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using remotely sensed data acquired from a small unmanned aircraft system (sUAS), remotely sensed bathymetry and field measurements were collected from two cross-sections on the Colorado River near Parshall, CO on June 13, 2019. This parent data release includes links to child pages for the following data sets...

UAS-based remotely sensed data and field measurements from the Blue River and Colorado River, near Kremmling, Colorado, October 17-18, 2018 UAS-based remotely sensed data and field measurements from the Blue River and Colorado River, near Kremmling, Colorado, October 17-18, 2018

To support an investigation of the feasibility of measuring river bathymetry using remotely sensed data acquired from an unmanned aircraft system (UAS), several types of remotely sensed data and field measurements were collected from two cross-sections on the Blue River and two cross-sections on the Colorado River near Kremmling, Colorado, on October 17-18, 2018. This parent data release...
