Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Cladophora biomass and supporting data collected in the Great Lakes, 2019 (ver. 2.0, December 2023) Cladophora biomass and supporting data collected in the Great Lakes, 2019 (ver. 2.0, December 2023)
This dataset records Cladophora and associated submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) biomass collected approximately monthly during the growing season of 2019 at stations located along the U.S. shoreline of Lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario. It also records a variety of supporting data collected at Cladophora measurement stations. These supporting data include: - seasonal time series...
Microplastics data collected from streams in the northeastern United States, 2017-2018 Microplastics data collected from streams in the northeastern United States, 2017-2018
This dataset describes the quantity and morphology of microplastics in water, surficial sediment, sediment core, fish, and shellfish samples from Lake Mead National Recreation Area (Nevada/Arizona). Water and surficial sediment samples were collected once at 9 locations. A sediment core (33 cm long) was extracted from Las Vegas Bay to assess changes in microplastic deposition over time...
2019 Hydrologic Data Summary for the Central Pine Barrens Region, Suffolk County, New York (ver. 2.0, February 2024) 2019 Hydrologic Data Summary for the Central Pine Barrens Region, Suffolk County, New York (ver. 2.0, February 2024)
This U.S. Geological Survey data release provides surface-water quality, streamflow, and groundwater-elevation data collected within the Central Pine Barrens (CPB) Region of Suffolk County, New York. The data were collected in cooperation with the Central Pine Barrens Commission and the Town of Brookhaven as part of a five-year comprehensive water-resources monitoring program. Water...
Long-term hydrological and biological data from Williams and Shingobee Lakes, north-central Minnesota Long-term hydrological and biological data from Williams and Shingobee Lakes, north-central Minnesota
The Shingobee Headwaters Aquatic Ecosystem Project is a long-term, multi-disciplinary monitoring and research study of a 28-square-kilometer headwaters watershed in north-central Minnesota that began in 1978. Emphasis is on processes related to hydrology, limnology, geochemistry, and watershed ecology and the land-water and atmosphere-water interfaces. Lakes are a substantial focus and...
EDEN: Everglades Depth Estimation Network Water Level And Depth Surfaces EDEN: Everglades Depth Estimation Network Water Level And Depth Surfaces
An R package that provides a set of functions for the Everglades Depth Estimation Network (EDEN). EDEN is an integrated network of water-level gages, interpolation models that estimate daily water-level data at ungaged locations, and applications that generate derived hydrologic data across the freshwater part of the Greater Everglades landscape. This package contains the scripts that...
Environmental DNA detection and survival, influence of sediment, and stream transport in a Lake Michigan watershed, 2018 Environmental DNA detection and survival, influence of sediment, and stream transport in a Lake Michigan watershed, 2018
The data released are associated with an examination of eDNA from round goby fish (Neogobius melanostomus) in a series of field sample collections (lake nearshore and stream transport) and in vitro laboratory experiments. The round goby was used as a model for our source of eDNA in the field collections and mesocosm experiments. The field samples for lake nearshore (water and sediment)...
