Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Phytoplankton Community Composition in Western Lake Erie Basin and Northeast Ohio, 2016-2018 Phytoplankton Community Composition in Western Lake Erie Basin and Northeast Ohio, 2016-2018
This dataset contains a tabular file of phytoplankton abundance and community composition analysis in samples collected from two sites in the Western Lake Erie Basin and one inland lake site in northeast Ohio. Samples were processed by the Ohio Water Microbiology Lab of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and analyzed by BSA Environmental Inc. and during federal fiscal years 2016-2018. The...
Daily loads of nutrients, sediment, and chloride at Great Lakes Restoration Initiative USGS edge-of-field and tile stations Daily loads of nutrients, sediment, and chloride at Great Lakes Restoration Initiative USGS edge-of-field and tile stations
As part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have partnered to evaluate the impacts of implementing agricultural conservation practices focused on nutrient management. Monitoring methods have been designed to allow for rapid...

As part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have partnered to evaluate agricultural conservation practices focused on nutrient management. Monitoring methods allow for rapid assessment of water-quality changes in response to...
Cross-validation results for five statistical methods of daily streamflow estimation at 1,385 reference streamgages in the conterminous United States, Water Years 1981-2017 Cross-validation results for five statistical methods of daily streamflow estimation at 1,385 reference streamgages in the conterminous United States, Water Years 1981-2017
This data release contains daily time series estimates of natural streamflow for 1,385 streamgages in 19 study regions in the conterminous U.S. from October 1, 1980, through September 30, 2017. These estimates are provided for gages from mostly undisturbed watersheds as defined by Falcone (2011), using five statistical techniques: nearest-neighbor drainage area ratio (NNDAR), map...
Data for laboratory experiments conducted with the mayfly Neocloeon triangulifer to derive uranium bioaccumulation parameters and predict site-specific U accumulation, 2016-2019 Data for laboratory experiments conducted with the mayfly Neocloeon triangulifer to derive uranium bioaccumulation parameters and predict site-specific U accumulation, 2016-2019
The U.S. Geological Survey is studying the underlying processes controlling uranium (U) bioaccumulation in aquatic invertebrates by experimentally parameterizing conditional rate constants for aqueous U uptake, dietary U uptake and U elimination. This data release makes available data from laboratory experiments conducted with the aquatic baetid mayfly Neocloeon triangulifer.
Six Decades of Change at East Timbalier Island, Louisiana Six Decades of Change at East Timbalier Island, Louisiana
Using ~ 1 m resolution imagery collected between 2000 and 2010, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Civil Applications Center (NCAC) monitored dramatic changes at East Timbalier Island, a Gulf of Mexico barrier island located on the west side of the Mississippi River Delta (Thomas et. al, 2011). The imagery was collected by US National Imagery Systems (USNIS) and archived at the...
