Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Riparian vegetation, topography, sediment quality and river corridor geomorphology in the Lower Virgin River 2010-2017 Riparian vegetation, topography, sediment quality and river corridor geomorphology in the Lower Virgin River 2010-2017
Plant composition, geomorphic conditions and sediment properties before (2010-2012) and after (2015-2017) the arrival of a biocontrol agent (defoliating beetle in the Diorhabda genus) of invasive Tamarix spp. The data contains four csv files: localization (UTM coordinates of the transects), vegetation and geomorphology, species codes and sediment quality
Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) Version 1.0 Annual Land Cover and Land Cover Change Validation Tables Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) Version 1.0 Annual Land Cover and Land Cover Change Validation Tables
A validation assessment of Land Cover Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection Version 1 annual land cover products (1985-2017) for the Conterminous United States was conducted with an independently collected reference data set. Reference data land cover attributes were assigned by trained interpreters for each year of the time series (1984-2018) to a reference sample of 24,971 randomly...
Sacramento River Basin future daily streamflow and sediment HSPF outputs Sacramento River Basin future daily streamflow and sediment HSPF outputs
This dataset contains the model outputs from the daily Hydrological Simulation Program - FORTRAN (HSPF) model of the Sacramento River Basin, including streamflow and sediment time series from water years 1981-2099. Streamflow time series data are in cubic feet per second, sediment loads are in tons per day, and suspended sediment concentrations are in milligrams per liter.
Model archive for analysis of the effects of impervious cover on receiving-water quality with the Stochastic Empirical Loading Dilution Model (SELDM) Model archive for analysis of the effects of impervious cover on receiving-water quality with the Stochastic Empirical Loading Dilution Model (SELDM)
Impervious runoff-discharge to receiving streams is widely recognized as one of the leading factors contributing to ecological degradation in such streams. Although there are many factors that contribute to ecological degradation with increasing development adverse effects caused by runoff quality is widely recognized as a contributing factor. The objective of this study was to simulate...
Estimated Use of Water in the United States County-Level Data for 2015 Estimated Use of Water in the United States County-Level Data for 2015
This dataset contains water-use estimates for 2015 that are aggregated to the county level in the United States. The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS's) National Water Use Science Project is responsible for compiling and disseminating the Nation's water-use data. Working in cooperation with local, State, and Federal agencies, the USGS has published an estimate of water use in the United...
