Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Acoustic-tagged juvenile Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) and juvenile Coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) detections in Tieton Reservoir, Yakima River, WA from 2024 Acoustic-tagged juvenile Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) and juvenile Coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) detections in Tieton Reservoir, Yakima River, WA from 2024

A study was conducted in the Yakima River Basin in Washington state to evaluate behavior of juvenile Chinook salmon and Coho salmon upstream of Tieton Dam from April to November 2024. The goal of this study was to collect data useful for designing and siting downstream fish passage options at the dam. Under current operations, water is passed through the dam via a deep intake located on...

Tabular and geospatial data for the magnitude and frequency of floods at ungaged locations on streams in Tennessee, through the 2013 water year Tabular and geospatial data for the magnitude and frequency of floods at ungaged locations on streams in Tennessee, through the 2013 water year

To improve estimates of the frequency of annual peak flows for ungaged locations on non-urban, unregulated streams in Tennessee, generalized least-squares (GLS) multiple linear-regression techniques were used to relate annual peak flows from streamflow gaging stations (streamgages) operated by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to physical, climatic, and land-use characteristics of their...

Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) eDNA metabarcoding: PS2308, R/V Point Sur, September 2022 Mesophotic and Deep Benthic Communities (MDBC) eDNA metabarcoding: PS2308, R/V Point Sur, September 2022

Data from environmental DNA (eDNA) samples filtered from seawater collected in the Gulf of America during a research expedition on the R/V Point Sur in September 2022. Samples were collected at depths throughout the water column. Each eDNA sample was amplified using four primer sets: MiFish 12S rRNA marker targeting ray-finned fishes; 28S rRNA marker targeting corals and other cnidarians...

Flood-inundation geospatial datasets for 14.8 miles of the Little and Big Papillion Creeks in Omaha, Nebraska, 2023 Flood-inundation geospatial datasets for 14.8 miles of the Little and Big Papillion Creeks in Omaha, Nebraska, 2023

Digital flood-inundation map libraries for two reaches that comprise 14.8 miles of the Little and Big Papillion Creeks in Omaha, Nebraska were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District. The flood-inundation maps, which can be accessed through the USGS Flood Inundation Mapping Program website at https://www.usgs.gov...

Spatial Data Derived from High-Resolution Aerial Imagery Collected by Helicopter-Mounted Cameras Over the Shoreline of Hawai‘i Island in 2021-2022 Spatial Data Derived from High-Resolution Aerial Imagery Collected by Helicopter-Mounted Cameras Over the Shoreline of Hawai‘i Island in 2021-2022

The objective of this project was to create a shoreline inventory for Hawai‘i Island, the largest and most diverse island in the Hawaiian archipelago. This was done via the collection and processing of high-resolution (

Data for Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends Data for Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends

This data release contains data in support of "Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends" (Over and others, 2025). It contains input and output data used to analyze the effect of climate changes on trends in floods using three regression approaches. The input consists of two files. The first, "station_list.csv,"...
