Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) Egg Diameter Estimates from the Huron River (Ohio), 2022 Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) Egg Diameter Estimates from the Huron River (Ohio), 2022
These data include egg diameter estimates from Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) eggs collected during bongo net sampling in the Huron River (Ohio; 41.3305, -82.5812) on May 23, 2022 near Milan, Ohio. Egg diameters were estimated from photographs using proportional relationships of pixel lengths with a known length scale bar in millimeters. Given that eggs were not perfectly spherical...
Historical Landsat-Derived Water Surface Temperature for Three Large Alaska Rivers 1984-2022 Historical Landsat-Derived Water Surface Temperature for Three Large Alaska Rivers 1984-2022
This data package includes 17,014 pairs of raster geotiffs. Each pair is made up of two geotiff rasters derived from historical observations from Landsat satellites (04-09) over the Yukon, Kuskokwim, and Tanana rivers in Alaska. One raster reports estimated mid-day water surface temperature (ST) in degrees Celsius (deg_Cc). The second raster reports the surface temperature quality...
Stable isotope data for sulfur, oxygen, and hydrogen in minerals and gases and electron microprobe data for minerals from Sulphur Bank mercury mine, Lake County, California Stable isotope data for sulfur, oxygen, and hydrogen in minerals and gases and electron microprobe data for minerals from Sulphur Bank mercury mine, Lake County, California
Stable isotope compositions (the ratios deuterium/hydrogen, oxygen-18/oxygen-16, and sulfur-34/sulfur-32) are reported for alunite, jarosite, kaolinite, silica, cinnabar, marcasite, and native sulfur from outcrops in and around the workings of the Sulphur Bank mercury mine, Lake County, California, and chemical compositions are reported, from electron microprobe analyses, for alunite and
Comparisons of dissolved-oxygen calibration methods at various elevations, Oregon, 2023 Comparisons of dissolved-oxygen calibration methods at various elevations, Oregon, 2023
Two dissolved-oxygen experiments were completed using internally logging water-quality monitors. Dissolved-oxygen sensors on the water-quality monitors were calibrated using various settings and at various elevations in Oregon, USA. Data from these experiments can be used 1) to assess how elevation affects dissolved-oxygen values recorded by continuous water-quality monitors, and 2) to
Alaska Resource Data File (ARDF) Alaska Resource Data File (ARDF)
The Alaska Resource Data File (ARDF) is a database of mines, prospects, and mineral occurrences in Alaska. It contains information compiled from published and unpublished sources from industry, U.S. Bureau of Mines (BOM), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and other government and private sources. ARDF is not a mining claims database.
Scanning electron microscopy data from sediments collected in ephemeral channels, Four Corners region, USA, 2021-2022 Scanning electron microscopy data from sediments collected in ephemeral channels, Four Corners region, USA, 2021-2022
The San Juan River is a major water source for communities in the Four Corners region of the United States (parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah) and is a vital source of water for the Navajo Nation. The Navajo Nation Environmental Protection Agency (NNEPA) periodically samples surface water on the Navajo Nation and has found that some elements exceed NNEPA surface water...
