Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

SSEBop Evapotranspiration from Landsat, 2000-2020 CONUS Monthly Actual ET (ETa) SSEBop Evapotranspiration from Landsat, 2000-2020 CONUS Monthly Actual ET (ETa)

USGS Evapotranspiration estimates provide useful information for a range of land use applications, from calculating a basin’s water budget to assessment of water consumption for crop yield and drought monitoring. This USGS data release is a result of using the OpenET Google Earth Engine (GEE) implementation of the USGS EROS Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop)...

Concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from validation experiments and custom sample analysis by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) Laboratory Code 9660, December 2020 to March 2022 Concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from validation experiments and custom sample analysis by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) Laboratory Code 9660, December 2020 to March 2022

This data release contains concentration and isotope-dilution standard (IDS) recovery data from individual samples that are summarized and interpreted in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Techniques and Methods (T&M) Report "Determination of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in Water by Direct Injection of Matrix-Modified Centrifuge Supernatant and Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass...

Whole Rock Major and Trace Element Chemistry for Igneous, Metamorphic, and Mineralized Rocks Collected for Select Projects in Alaska Whole Rock Major and Trace Element Chemistry for Igneous, Metamorphic, and Mineralized Rocks Collected for Select Projects in Alaska

This dataset consists of one table containing whole-rock geochemistry data for 251 igneous, metamorphic, and mineralized (metasomatic) rocks from various locations across Alaska in support of mineral assessments of critical minerals and transboundary watersheds. The samples were collected mainly between 2019 and 2023, and all materials were analyzed by ALS Global, between 2019 and 2023...

Zircon U-Pb, Organic Carbon Isotope, and Geochemistry Data from the Hue Shale and Canning Formation, Arctic Alaska, 2025 Zircon U-Pb, Organic Carbon Isotope, and Geochemistry Data from the Hue Shale and Canning Formation, Arctic Alaska, 2025

This dataset contains results from three stratigraphic sections of the Hue Shale located in and adjacent to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in northeastern Alaska. Sample heights were measured with a tape measure in continuous successions. Zircon grains from volcanic ashes were analyzed via laser ablation at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) using a Photon Machines...

CMIP6-LOCA2 Temperature and Precipitation Variables for Resilient Roadway Design from 1950-2100 for the Contiguous United States CMIP6-LOCA2 Temperature and Precipitation Variables for Resilient Roadway Design from 1950-2100 for the Contiguous United States

Roads and bridges are vulnerable to a range of stressors, such as flooding, heat waves, and other extreme events. The probability of these stressors impacting roads and bridges cannot be exactly calculated due to various uncertainties related to the scientific understanding of future environmental conditions. Resilient design methods find ways to account for the uncertainty in various...

Imagery, photogrammetry, lidar, and sensor data collected via small uncrewed aerial systems were used to model stage-streamflow in 19 ephemeral and three perennial streams along the San Juan River near the Four Corners region of the southwestern United St Imagery, photogrammetry, lidar, and sensor data collected via small uncrewed aerial systems were used to model stage-streamflow in 19 ephemeral and three perennial streams along the San Juan River near the Four Corners region of the southwestern United St

Streamflow in a river can be used to calculate loads of constituents of concern in rivers but obtaining streamflow data using traditional streamgaging techniques in ephemeral channels can be cost prohibitive. Because of the remote location and infrequent flow occurrences, collecting paired stage-streamflow measurements for sufficient flow events during a 2-year study to develop a rating...
