Lidar-Derived Hydrography in the Karner Brook Watershed, Massachusetts Lidar-Derived Hydrography in the Karner Brook Watershed, Massachusetts

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Green Berkshires, Inc., has compiled Geographic Information Systems (GIS) datasets consisting of raster and vector data used to generate lidar-derived hydrography. The spatial data layers provided in this data release are hydrography data derived from high-resolution lidar digital elevation models (DEM). The vector data are in...

Macroinvertebrate communities in PA and MD Piedmont mixed agricultural streams, 2023 Macroinvertebrate communities in PA and MD Piedmont mixed agricultural streams, 2023

From 12 May – 18 May 2023, a Virginia Tech team of 2-3 sampled the macroinvertebrate community in 30 Upper Northern Piedmont streams (Maryland and Pennsylvania, USA) as part of a larger stream-health study including other teams who surveyed geomorphology, water quality, flow, temperature, fish community, and fish health at the same 30 streams. Macroinvertebrates were sampled using a 500...

Algal community composition and associated fish eDNA in southern Lake Michigan shoreline deposits (2024) Algal community composition and associated fish eDNA in southern Lake Michigan shoreline deposits (2024)

This data set includes information on algae community composition and metadata for fish environmental DNA (eDNA) samples collected along the shoreline of southern Lake Michigan in late August 2024. Washed up, floating, and attached algae were collected along shore and in wadable water. Algal community observations were performed by microscopy to determine primary and secondary dominance...

Lithologic logs and photographs of cores from the Atlantic Coastal Plain Lithologic logs and photographs of cores from the Atlantic Coastal Plain

Coring of Atlantic Coastal Plain sediments has long been the basis of many projects funded by the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program. Over the past 50 years, more than 50 cores have been obtained, and accompanying geologic field notes (lithologic logs) and photographs were made by various geologists at the time of coring. These lithologic logs and photographs provide a record...
