Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Water temperature, air temperature, and sensor depth data from select locations in the Big Soos Creek basin, WA from April 2023 to June 2024 Water temperature, air temperature, and sensor depth data from select locations in the Big Soos Creek basin, WA from April 2023 to June 2024

These data were collected as part of a larger project to support Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) modeling in the Big Soos Creek basin. Water temperature, air temperature and sensor depth were collected from four sites in the Big Soos Creek basin; LITTLE SOOS CREEK BELOW LAKE YOUNGS NEAR KENT, WA (USGS site ID 12109400), JENKINS CREEK AT 188TH AVE SE NEAR KENT, WA (USGS site ID 12110300)...

Database for the geologic map of the Washington West 30' x 60' quadrangle, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. Database for the geologic map of the Washington West 30' x 60' quadrangle, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

The database for the Washington West 30- by 60-minute quadrangle covers an area of approximately 4,884 square kilometers (1,343 square miles) in and west of the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. The eastern part of the area is highly urbanized, and more rural areas to the west are rapidly being developed. The area lies entirely within the Chesapeake Bay drainage basin and mostly...

Lake Erie Submersed Aquatic Vegetation, Sampled 2016-2019 Lake Erie Submersed Aquatic Vegetation, Sampled 2016-2019

Observations and subtle shifts of aquatic vegetation communities in Lake Erie have USGS researchers concerned about the potential for grass carp and other threats to alter these vegetation communities. Assessing submersed aquatic vegetation (SAV) may contribute to inform the long-term impacts of grass carp, common carp, eutrophication, wind fetch and sedimentation on SAV communities...

Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP) eutrophication model for the Barnegat Bay-Little Egg Harbor Estuary, New Jersey, USA. Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP) eutrophication model for the Barnegat Bay-Little Egg Harbor Estuary, New Jersey, USA.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed and calibrated a Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP) model (version 8.4) for the Barnegat Bay-Little Egg Harbor Estuary (hereafter referred to as 'the Estuary'), New Jersey. This model was externally coupled with a previously developed hydrodynamic model (Defne and Ganju, 2015 and 2018) to simulate dissolved oxygen, nutrient...

Bureau of Land Management Data on Breeding Ecology and Behavioral Responses of Loons to Oilfield Development Activities in the Fish Creek Watershed, National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, 2016 and 2017 Bureau of Land Management Data on Breeding Ecology and Behavioral Responses of Loons to Oilfield Development Activities in the Fish Creek Watershed, National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska, 2016 and 2017

These data consist of the behavioral responses of Pacific and Yellow-billed Loons to helicopter overflights and ground-based human activity in disturbed vs. undisturbed areas, as well as nest success in the summers of 2016 and 2017 at two field camps in the Fish Creek watershed, NPR-A.

Bathymetry and Velocity Data from Surveys at Highway Bridges crossing the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, August 8–9, 2023 Bathymetry and Velocity Data from Surveys at Highway Bridges crossing the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, August 8–9, 2023

These data are high-resolution bathymetry (riverbed elevation) and depth-averaged velocities in comma-delimited table format, generated from hydrographic and velocimetric surveys near highway bridge structures over the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 8–9, 2023. Hydrographic data were collected using a high-resolution multibeam echosounder mapping system (MBMS), which...
