Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Pre-fire predicted burn severity for estimating hazard of post-fire debris flow for conservation populations of blue-lineage Colorado River Cutthroat Trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii pleuriticus) in the Upper Colorado River Basin Pre-fire predicted burn severity for estimating hazard of post-fire debris flow for conservation populations of blue-lineage Colorado River Cutthroat Trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii pleuriticus) in the Upper Colorado River Basin

These data were compiled for/to estimate predicted pre-fire burn severity for estimating hazard of post-fire debris flow for conservation populations of blue-lineage Colorado River Cutthroat Trout. Objective(s) of our study were to predicted burn severity. These data represent predicted pre-fire differenced Normalized Burn Ratio (dNBR) for portions of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming and were...

Water for Birds—A spreadsheet-based tool for the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge for irrigation months in 2021–2024 Water for Birds—A spreadsheet-based tool for the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge for irrigation months in 2021–2024

A spreadsheet-based model (using Microsoft Excel) was developed to assess the amounts and types of habitats within the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in southeastern Oregon, USA. The Refuge provides critical bird habitat, and the model was designed to quantify the areas of open water, partial water, and water depths during the irrigation season (April–July) from 2021–2024. This data...

Carmel River Basin Hydrologic Models: Future Climate Data Carmel River Basin Hydrologic Models: Future Climate Data

This digital dataset contains the gridded future climate data used for the Carmel River Basin Hydrologic Model. The daily climate data for the Carmel River Basin Hydrologic Model Hydrologic Model are based on the Salinas and Carmel River Basins Study (SCRBS) future climate scenarios (Henson and others, 2024). SCRBS considers one baseline climate scenario that represents recent historical...

Timelapse and webcam images of the 2022 eruption of Mauna Loa, Island of Hawaiʻi Timelapse and webcam images of the 2022 eruption of Mauna Loa, Island of Hawaiʻi

The 2022 eruption of Mauna Loa volcano, Island of Hawaiʻi, was the first eruption on the volcano since 1984, producing a 17 km lava flow that threatened a major highway (Mulliken and others 2024; Zoeller and others 2024). The eruption began with lava fountaining in the summit caldera (Mokuʻāweoweo) at 23:21 HST on November 27, transitioning to vents on the Northeast Rift Zone (NERZ) by...

Optical Petrography, Bulk Chemistry, Micro-scale Mineralogy/Chemistry, and Bulk/Micron-Scale Solid-Phase Speciation of Natural and Synthetic Solid Phases Used in Chromium Sequestration and Re-oxidation Experiments with Sand and Sediment from Hinkley, CA Optical Petrography, Bulk Chemistry, Micro-scale Mineralogy/Chemistry, and Bulk/Micron-Scale Solid-Phase Speciation of Natural and Synthetic Solid Phases Used in Chromium Sequestration and Re-oxidation Experiments with Sand and Sediment from Hinkley, CA

This data release contains macro and microscale datasets describing the abundance, valence states, and mineral residence(s) of chromium, iron, and manganese in natural and synthetic mineral mixtures used in laboratory experiments designed to simulate dynamic conditions in an engineered aquifer system [see Izbicki and Groover (2018) and Miller and others (2020)]. Topographic datasets compiled for the Lower Roanoke River corridor in 2003, 2014, and 2020, North Carolina Topographic datasets compiled for the Lower Roanoke River corridor in 2003, 2014, and 2020, North Carolina

This data release contains topographic information compiled for the Lower Roanoke River corridor located in eastern North Carolina. The Lower Roanoke River corridor includes the mainstem of the Roanoke River from Roanoke Rapids, NC (below the Roanoke Rapids dam) to the mouth of the Roanoke River at its confluence with the Albemarle Sound, and the associated floodplains and wetland areas
