AGU24 is the world’s largest annual Earth science meeting, showcasing science that will benefit humanity and ensure a sustainable future for the planet. Join the USGS at booth #912 and attend our presentations to learn more about the role of USGS science in achieving this future.

This year’s AGU Annual Meeting takes place December 9-13, 2024, in Washington, D.C. It’s attended by over 25,000 scientists, educators, policymakers, students, journalists, and communicators from more than 100 countries. These attendees share research, learn about new science, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

The USGS always has a big presence at the AGU Annual Meeting. This year, we'll be located at booth #912, where you will find maps and publications covering a myriad of topics, including natural hazards, climate science, and energy and minerals. Hundreds of scientists from across the USGS will also present throughout the week.

Our coastal and marine science portfolio will be well represented. Scientists will discuss a wide range of hot topics, including progress in blue carbon science, predicting coastal change regionally to nationally, methane seeps and gas hydrates, new geological observations of the seafloor, diversifying representation in the geosciences, and so much more.

If you’re attending the AGU24 Annual Meeting, check out the list below to help make the most of your week! We’ve organized our coastal and marine science related oral and poster presentations by the day—indicating the title, presenter, and what time and where it’s taking place. Note some of the presentations listed are being given by non-USGS scientists, however USGS scientists are coauthors on these talks and contributed to the studies being discussed.
