Science in the Gulf of Mexico

Gulf of Mexico ecosystems are comprised of highly productive interconnected landscapes from open ocean and coastal barriers to estuarine bays and wetlands that support a diversity of organisms. The USGS works with Federal, State, local, and academic partners to provide and communicate scientific information needed to understand, manage, conserve and restore these important Gulf resources.
