Elizabeth A McCartney

Biography

Elizabeth McCartney received her MS degree in Biology from Jacksonville State University in 1998. After working for the USGS as a contractor for eight years, in 2008, Elizabeth began her federal career with the USGS-National Technical Operations Center (NGTOC) as a technical point of contact for the National Hydrography Dataset. Elizabeth provided technical support and training to seven states in the creation and management of NHD products. In March, 2013, Elizabeth became the Team Lead for the USGS Citizen Science project known as The National Map Corps which supports The National Map and US Topo maps. Elizabeth began working in Innovations - Applied Research at NGTOC in 2017 where her focus is the improvement of vector data themes through partnerships, data sharing, and research.
