Principal facts of regional gravity data in the central Upper Peninsula, Michigan, 2022-2023
Gravity data were collected in 2022 and 2023 to assist in mapping surface and subsurface geology in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This data release provides principal facts for 666 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage.
Legacy Geochemical Data from Hardcopy Records of Selected Past U.S. Geological Survey Projects
This data release contains geochemical data from selected U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) projects from the 1960s-1980s that were previously unpublished as digital data. The objective of those projects was to describe the geology, determine petrologic and geochemical characteristics, or to evaluate the mineral resource potential of Federal Lands and adjacent study areas. These data comprise geochemi
Audiomagnetotelluric sounding data in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, 2019
This dataset includes audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) sounding data collected in July 2019 in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Along with geologic mapping, airborne magnetics, airborne electromagnetics, and magnetotellurics, the USGS collected AMT data at 26 sites along five profiles ranging from 2 to 5 kilomet
Magnetotelluric sounding data in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, 2019
This dataset includes magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in July 2019 in the Silverton Caldera complex, Colorado, in the Southern Rocky Mountain Volcanic Field, by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Along with geologic mapping, airborne magnetics, airborne electromagnetics, and audiomagnetotellurics, the USGS collected MT data at 24 sites along five profiles ranging from 2 to 5 kilometer
Principal facts of regional gravity data in the central Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and northeastern Wisconsin
Gravity data were collected from 2016 through 2019 to assist in mapping surface and subsurface geology in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and in neighboring northeastern Wisconsin. This data release provides principal facts for 1536 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage.
Audiomagnetotelluric survey to characterize the Sunnyside porphyry copper system in the Patagonia Mountains, Arizona
This dataset includes audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) sounding data collected in 2008 in and near the Patagonia Mountains of southern Arizona. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) conducted a series of multidisciplinary studies as part of the Assessment Techniques for Concealed Mineral Resources project funded by the USGS Minerals Resources Program in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service. The USGS use
Ground-based electromagnetic survey, Shellmound, Mississippi, October 2018
Shallow soil characteristics were mapped near Shellmound, Mississippi, using the DualEM 421 electromagnetic sensor in October 2018. Data were acquired by towing the DualEM sensor on a wheeled cart behind an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), with the sensor at a height of 0.432 meters (m) above the ground surface. Approximately 175 line-kilometers of data were acquired over an area of nearly four square-k
Audiomagnetotelluric data, Buffalo River watershed, Arkansas, 2017
This dataset includes the locations for audio-magnetotelluric (AMT) sounding data collected in August 2017 in the Buffalo River watershed of northern Arkansas by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The sites were mostly alongside Osage Creek and its intermittent tributaries. Along with geologic mapping, the USGS used AMT data at 6 sites along a southwest-northeast profile of about 7 kilometers acro
Principal facts of regional gravity data in northeast Iowa
Gravity data were collected from 2016 through 2018 to assist in mapping subsurface geology in northeastern Iowa. This data release provides principal facts for 1080 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage.
