SAVEWARE is a group of 12 programs that run on IBM and IBM compatible microcomputers. The programs were written in QuickBASIC and have been combined with input/output routines from DATASAVE. The programs (except ASCI2DSV) access data from DATASAVE format data files and perform various petrologic operations.

Isotopic evidence for evolution of sub-continental mantle during Red Sea rifting Isotopic evidence for evolution of sub-continental mantle during Red Sea rifting
Tertiary igneous rocks from near Al Lith, Saudi Arabia are alkaline to subalkaline and bimodal in composition, and document early and late rift volcanism (≥30 Ma to ~20 Ma, 11 Ma and 3 Ma) in the central part of the Red Sea rift. Isotopic and trace-element data from twenty-five samples are presented and used to characterize basalt sources in the early rift. Inferred primary isotopic...

Precambrian ophiolites of Arabia; a summary of geologic settings, U-Pb geochronology, lead isotope characteristics, and implications for microplate accretion, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Precambrian ophiolites of Arabia; a summary of geologic settings, U-Pb geochronology, lead isotope characteristics, and implications for microplate accretion, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Disrupted ophiolites occur in linear belts as much as 900 km long between micro plates that collided during the late Proterozoic to form the Arabian Shield. The U-Pb zircon ages and lead-isotope data from these ophiolitic rocks help constrain the history of accretion of the Arabian Shield and thereby contribute to the definition of its microplates and terranes. Microplates of the central...

Evolution of the Early Proterozoic Colorado province: Constraints from U-Pb geochronology Evolution of the Early Proterozoic Colorado province: Constraints from U-Pb geochronology
The Colorado province represents an addition of a belt of rocks more than 500 km wide to the southern margin of the Archean Wyoming craton during the Early Proterozoic, between about 1790 and 1660 Ma. Correspondence in ages between metamorphism, deformation, and plutonism; association of volcanic rocks with comagmatic calc-alkalic plutons; and lack of older basement are all consistent...

Arabian Shield ophiolites and Late Proterozoic microplate accretion Arabian Shield ophiolites and Late Proterozoic microplate accretion
Fragments of Late Proterozoic ocean crust and mantle (ophiolites) occur within six major fault zones that mark sutures between crustal blocks (microplates) that were accreted between about 630 and 715 Ma to form the Arabian Shield. We report new U-Pb zircon ages for ophiolitic gabbro, diorite, and plagiogranite that range from 840 to 700 Ma and establish these complexes among the oldest...

Reconnaissance geologic map of the Harrat Tuffil Quadrangle, sheet 20/39 B, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Reconnaissance geologic map of the Harrat Tuffil Quadrangle, sheet 20/39 B, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Harrat Tuffil quadrangle, sheet 20/39 B, is located between lat 20°30’ and 21°00’ N. and long 39°30’ and 40°00’ E. about 50 km southeast of Jiddah. A western belt of Proterozoic metapelites and related rocks, defined as the Sa’diyah formation, structurally underlies and locally is interlayered with Proterozoic metabasaltic rocks of oceanic chemical affinity to the east. The Sa’diyah...
