Professional Experience
Prior to joining USGS, Kirby worked for the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) for 9 years as Senior Fishery Management Plan Coordinator. In this capacity, Kirby worked with state agencies, NOAA Fisheries, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to facilitate fishery management plans and address pressing issues in marine conservation.
Before working at ASMFC, Kirby worked for SeaWeb, a conservation group focused on sustainable seafood.
Between College and Graduate School, Kirby served as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Knoxville, Tennessee.
