Summary geochemical maps for samples of rock, stream sediment, and nonmagnetic heavy-mineral concentrate, Pyramid Roadless Area, El Dorado County, California Summary geochemical maps for samples of rock, stream sediment, and nonmagnetic heavy-mineral concentrate, Pyramid Roadless Area, El Dorado County, California
The Wilderness Act (Public Law 88-577, September 3, 1964) and related acts require the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Bureau of Mines to survey certain areas on Federal lands to determine their mineral resource potential. Results must be made available to the public and be submitted to the President and the Congress. This report presents the results of a geochemical survey of the...
Summary geochemical map for samples of rock, stream sediment, and nonmagnetic heavy-mineral concentrate, Freel and Dardanelles Roadless Areas, Alpine and El Dorado Counties, California Summary geochemical map for samples of rock, stream sediment, and nonmagnetic heavy-mineral concentrate, Freel and Dardanelles Roadless Areas, Alpine and El Dorado Counties, California
The Freel and Dardanelles Roadless Areas lie near the crest of the central Sierra Nevada south of Lake Tahoe in California. The roadless areas (the study area) encompass approximately 51 sq mi in Eldorado and Toiyabe National Forests and in the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, in Alpine and El Dorado Counties, California. The study area is dominated by rugged topography; elevations...

The Hoover Wilderness and the adjacent Hoover Extension (East), Hoover Extension (West), and Cherry Creek A Roadless Areas (the adjacent study area) encompass approximately 153,900 acres (241 mi2; 623 km2) in the Inyo, Stanislaus, and Toiyabe Naitonal Forests, Mono and Tuolumne Counties, Calif. These two areas lie along and mostly east of the crest of the Sierra Nevada, along the north...
Mineral resource potential map of the Pyramid Roadless Area, El Dorado County, Colorado Mineral resource potential map of the Pyramid Roadless Area, El Dorado County, Colorado
Studies show., there is low potential for small deposits of gold, silver, and base metals in the Pyramid Roadless Area. There are two uranium claims (Cliff Ridge mining claims) located within the roadless area, but samples from this site showed no uranium. There are no indications of geothermal resources, coal, oil, or gas.

The Myszkow porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit, Poland The Myszkow porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit, Poland
The porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit at Myszkow, south-central Poland, lies in the Cracow-Silesian orogenic belt, in the vicinity of a Paleozoic boundary between two tectonic plates. The deposit is hosted in a complex that includes early Paleozoic metasedimentary rocks intruded in the late Paleozoic by a predominantly granodioritic pluton. This deposit exhibits many features that are...
