Maxwell Meadows

Maxwell Meadows is a Hydrologist in the New England Water Science Center.

Maxwell joined the USGS in 2023 and conducts multidisciplinary studies related to groundwater and surface water in New England, with a focus on water quality contaminants such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the environment.  

Maxwell received his B.S. in Earth Sciences from Central Connecticut State University and his M.S. in Biological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Rhode Island. During his degree programs, his research focused on anthropogenic and geogenic sources of arsenic in local soils, and the effects of water quality on disinfection byproduct formation potential. Maxwell also spent three years in the environmental consulting industry, where he worked closely with a variety of clients to address environmental investigations, and remediation.
