Scientist collects well water sample to test for isotopic age tracers. Well locations represent different flow paths in the aquifer system.
Michael J Sarantou
Michael Sarantou is a hydrologic technician and senior member of the Studies Field Operations team at the Oregon Water Science Center in Portland, Oregon.
Before joining the USGS in 1990 Mike served in the US Navy, where he was responsible for maintaining ship equipment and communication systems. During his time at the USGS, Mike has performed numerous surface water, groundwater, and water-quality data collection activities in Northern and Western Oregon. He has considerable experience developing stage/discharge relationships in area rivers and streams and designing, building, and maintaining instrumentation for surface water, groundwater, and water-quality monitoring networks. Mike is also responsible for keeping up with the ever-increasing changes to electronic field data collection and telemetry equipment for his team.
