Michael R Plampin, Ph.D.

I investigate various ways that multiphase (gas-water) flow in the subsurface may impact groundwater resource sustainability. My research has focused on the potential effects of carbon sequestration on shallow aquifers, the hydrogeology of low-permeability aquitards as related to nuclear waste storage, and rapid recharge processes that may lead to groundwater contamination.
