Nicholas Cole, PhD

Nicholas Cole is an interdisciplinary Research Biologist at the Fort Collins Science Center who studies how people and their actions shape the natural systems we depend on. He explores difficult research questions through both statistical and thematic analyses.

Nicholas’s research engages with complex system interaction between people and natural systems. He often works in areas with limited obvious decision and studies the perspectives, experiences, and behaviors of people within those systems. Nicholas Cole graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences in 2009, received his M.S. degree from University of Florida in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in 2014, and completed his Ph.D. in Natural Resource Sciences at the University of Nebraska in 2018.
