Sophie Lafond-Hudson is a hydrologist with the Upper Midwest Water Science Center.
Sophie is interested in aquatic biogeochemistry, wetlands, and interactions between plants and water quality. She joined USGS in 2023 and works on several projects related to aquatic contaminants in the upper Midwest. Prior to joining USGS, she has studied interactions between sulfur, iron, and wild rice ecology; developed coastal wetland processes in land surface models; and explored climate change vulnerability of Lake Superior coastal wetlands.
