College Partnerships in Neurodiversity Program & Strata Internship Program

*** Please Note: Due to the ongoing Federal hiring freeze, the Strata Internship Program (administered through the College Partnerships in Neurodiversity (CPN) Program) is not currently running.  Please check back for future updates to the internship program’s status.

The USGS College Partnerships in Neurodiversity (CPN) Program partners with autism and disability support offices at colleges and universities in proximity to USGS locations around the nation. The CPN program piloted in 2022 with Colorado School of Mines (Golden, CO) and George Mason University (VA).

The CPN program can expand to other colleges where there is a confluence of USGS science center, a university with support for neurodiverse students, and majors that align with the focus of a nearby USGS office. Interested parties should contact the Youth and Education in Science Program.

Undergraduate and graduate students from CPN partner universities are eligible to participate in the USGS Strata Internship Program, which provides professional development, networking opportunities, and scientific and technical skills training to support students’ transition into the workforce. Students and their USGS internship mentors receive support, training, and resources through the university autism and disability support offices and through the USGS Youth and Education in Science (YES) Program. Students eligible for Schedule A hiring can apply.
