ECOSTRESS Data Dictionary
The Data Dictionaries are a set of information describing the contents, format, and structure of elements for EarthExplorer products.
- Field Definition: The last day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The first day of data acquisition.
Format:
YYYY/MM/DD
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude are provided in decimal degrees for the following fields:
Values:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Latitude Format Decimal Degrees: -90.000 through 90.000
Longitude Format Decimal Degrees: -180.000 through 180.000
Number of decimal places will vary by dataset – check collection in EE.
ECO1BRAD files require a corresponding ECO1GEO file to determine coordinates for the scene. If the geolocation information is not available, the latitude and longitude will be listed as zero (0).
Coordinates - Degrees, Minutes, Seconds
- Field Definition: The latitude and longitude are provided in degrees, minutes, and seconds for the following fields:
Values:
Scene Center Latitude and Longitude
Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude
Longitude Format:
DDDMMSS.SSH
DDD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 180
MM = Minute(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with E for east and W for west
Latitude Format:
DDMMSS.SSH
DD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 90
MM = Minutes(s) with a range of 0 through 59
SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99
H = Hemisphere with N for north and S for south
ECO1BRAD files require a corresponding ECO1GEO file to determine coordinates for the scene. If the geolocation information is not available, the latitude and longitude will be listed as zero (0).
- Field Definition: The Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Authority provides the infrastructure for the registration and services for a persistent reference. The DOI Authority is used along with the DOI Name to view the associated URL for the product.
Example:
http://dx.doi.org or httsp://doi.org
- Field Definition: Digital Object Identifier is used to uniquely and permanently identify a dataset. The DOI name is more stable than a URL and is used as a permanent reference for the product. The DOI name can be entered into a DOI Authority system to view the associated URL for the product.
Example:
10.5067/ECOSTRESS/ECO1BRAD.001
- Field Definition: The naming convention of each file is based on the Local Granule ID. The Entity ID may match the Local Granule ID for some data sets.
Format:
PPPPPPP_OOOOO_SSS_YYYYDDDTHHMMSS
PPPPPPPP = Truncated Product Name (Number of characters may vary by dataset)
OOOOO = Orbit Number
SSS = Scene Number (not included for ECO1BATT product)
YYYY = Acquisition Year
DDD = Julian Day of Acquisition Start Date
THHMMSS = Time of Acquisition in Hours, Minutes, Seconds
Example:
L1B_RAD_03732_002_20190303T202453
- Field Definition: The name of an individual file.
Format:
ECOSTRESS_PPPPPPP_OOOOO_SSS_YYYYDDDTHHMMSS_PGEV_VV.h5
ECOSTRESS PPPPPPPP = Product Name (Number of characters may vary by dataset)
OOOOO = Orbit Number
SSS = Scene Number (not included for ECO1BATT product)
YYYY = Acquisition Year
DDD = Julian Day of Acquisition Start Date
THHMMSS = Time of Acquisition – Hours, Minutes, Seconds
PGEV = Product Generation Algorithm Version
VV = Version Number for data
h5 = Data format
Example:
ECOSTRESS_L1B_ATT_03766_20190306T012256_0503_01.h5
- Field Definition: The Orbit number is the sequential number of times the satellite traveled around the Earth when the data were collected.
- Field Definition: The Scene Number is a sub-set of the Orbit Number and identifies the swath acquisition associated with the data file.
- Field Definition: The data version for the ECOSTRESS product.
