High Resolution Orthoimagery Data Dictionary

 

Agency

• Field Definition:  The organization that initiated the production of the orthoimagery.

 

Beginning Date

• Field Definition:  The first date of photograph acquisition for the dataset.

 

Coordinates - Decimal Degrees

• Field Definition:  The latitude and longitude are provided in decimal degrees for the following fields:

          Values:

          Scene Center Latitude and Longitude

          Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude

          Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude

          Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude

          Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude

 

          Latitude Format Decimal Degrees: -90.000 through 90.000

          Longitude Format Decimal Degrees: -180.000 through 180.000

 

          Number of decimal places will vary by dataset – check collection in EE.

 

Coordinates - Degrees, Minutes, Seconds

• Field Definition:  The latitude and longitude are provided in degrees, minutes, and seconds for the following fields:

           Values:

           Scene Center Latitude and Longitude

           Northeast (NE) Corner Latitude and Longitude

           Northwest (NW) Corner Latitude and Longitude

           Southeast (SE) Corner Latitude and Longitude

           Southwest (SW) Corner Latitude and Longitude

 

           Longitude Format:

           DDDMMSS.SSH

           DDD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 180

           MM = Minute(s) with a range of 0 through 59

           SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99

           H = Hemisphere with E for east and W for west

 

          Latitude Format:

          DDMMSS.SSH

          DD = Degree(s) with a range of 0 through 90

          MM = Minutes(s) with a range of 0 through 59

          SS.SS = Second(s) with a range of 0 through 59.99

          H = Hemisphere with N for north and S for south

 

Dataset Name

• Field Definition:  A name derived from various database values to describe the dataset.

          Example:

                200701_broward_county_fl_1ft_sp_clr

         

          200701 = Beginning date of the dataset

          broward_county = The location in which the images were acquired.

          fl = The state/province/country in which the images were acquired.

          1ft = The resolution (1) and unit of measurement (ft)

          sp = Map Projection

          clr = Sensor Type = Color

 

Dataset Size

• Field Definition:  The size of the dataset expressed in megabytes.
   

Date Entered

• Field Definition:  The date when an image appears in inventory.

 

Datum

• Field Definition:  Datum used to map the image.

 

Ending Date

• Field Definition:  The last date of photograph acquisition for the dataset, if available.

 

Entity ID

• Field Definition:  The naming convention of each file is based on a sequential number generated at time of ingest and the image name provided by the vendor.

           Example:

                104449_OP200785360CIR

 

EPSG

• Field Definition:  The European Petroleum Survey Group (EPSG) number assigned for the specific coordinate system and projection used to map the location of the image.
  
  Note: The Projection File was used to ingest datasets starting in August, 2013.

 

Image Name

• Field Definition:  The image file name provided by the vendor.

          Example:

               op2007_85360_cir

 

Map Projection Description

• Field Definition:  The coordinate system and projection used to map the dataset.
  
  Note: The Projection File was used to ingest datasets starting in August, 2013.

 

Number of Bands

• Field Definition:  Number of spectral bands contained in the image.

 

Projection File

• Field Definition:  A plain text file using well-known text format that contains the coordinate system and projection information.
  
  Note: Map Projection Description and EPSG were used to ingest datasets prior to August, 2013.

 

Projection Zone

• Field Definition:  The FIPS number or zone number is used for State Plane projections. UTM Zone is used for Universal Transverse Mercator projections.

 

Resolution

• Field Definition:  The distance on the ground represented by one pixel.

 

Sensor

• Field Definition:  The aerial camera or imaging system used to obtain the data, if available.

 

Sensor Type

• Field Definition:  Indicates the type of spectral data collected by the sensor.

          Values:

          Black and White

          Color Infrared (infrared, red, green)

          Color (red, green, blue)

          Color Near Infrared (4-band data – red, green, blue, near infrared)

 

State/Province/Country

• Field Definition:  The location in which the imagery was acquired.

 

Units of Resolution

• Field Definition:  The unit of measurement associated with the resolution.

           Values:

           Feet

           Meters

 

Vendor

• Field Definition:  The organization or company that acquired the imagery, if available.
