National Atlas Data Dictionary
The Data Dictionaries are a set of information describing the contents, format, and structure of elements for EarthExplorer products.
- Field Definition: The ATLAS_FILENAME is the name of the data file supplied by National Atlas. Example: bat000m020.tar.gz
- Field Definition: Indicates which collection is displayed; 1:000.000-scale, North American Atlas or 100-meter resolution.
- Field Definition: The date the file was originally ingested into the database.
- Field Definition: The date the file was last updated.
- Field Definition: EDC_FILENAME is necessary to make each record unique. It matches the file name in the database to the file name on the EDC File System. This is created at the time record is added to the National Atlas database.
It combines root "ATLAS_FILENAME" "ENTITY_ID".tar.gz". Example: bat000m020_nt00168.tar.gz
- Field Definition: This field is used to uniquely identify data that can be ordered.
Example:
Entity ID: NT0004
Where:
NT = Data Set Identifier for National Atlas
0004 = Sequence number within dataset
- Field Definition: File name used by EROS. Includes the ATLAS file name and the EROS entity id.
- Field Definition: The file size in bytes.
- Field Definition: This is a URL that links to Product information and metadata descriptions of the file.
- Field Definition: This field indicates the format of the data file. Formats that have been used for collecting these data include:

- Field Definition: This field indicates the currentness of the data file. Status will be either Current or Legacy.
- Field Definition: This is the originator of the file as described in the Citation Section of the FGDC metadata document.
- Field Definition: This is the publication date as described in the Citation Section of the FGDC metadata document.
- Field Definition: This is the title of the file as described in the Citation Section of the FGDC metadata document.
- Field Definition: A number to indicate the sequence of files, especially in the case of multiple files using the same filename. If there is just one file, then the version number is 1. If there are multiple files, the largest number is given to the recently created file and the smallest number (or 1) is given to the oldest file.
