Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 Albers Scenes consist of the following Collection 2 Level-2 data products processed in the Albers Equal Area (AEA) map projection and World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) datum: Top of Atmosphere (TOA) Reflectance, Surface Reflectance (SR), Brightness Temperature (BT), Surface Temperature (ST), and Quality Assessment (QA).

The creation of Level-2 Albers Scenes begins with Landsat Collection 2 Level-1 Tier 1 data (For Landsat 8, Tier 2 data are also used).  Collection 2 Level-1 data are processed into the AEA map projection, after which science algorithms (see documentation links below) are applied to create the Level-2 Albers Scenes.

Note: A surface temperature product cannot be generated if auxiliary data is missing.  Please refer to the Atmospheric Auxiliary Data and Constraints and Caveats sections on Landsat Collection 2 Surface Temperature for more specifics about the required data needed in order to create an surface temperature product. 

Collection 2 Level-2 Albers Scene are available for the conterminous United States (CONUS), Alaska, and Hawaii.

The Landsat 4-9 Collection 2 Albers Scene Science Products are available for download from EarthExplorer. The data are located under the Landsat category, Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 subcategory, as “Landsat Albers C2 L2”.  Data only available for approved users.

After reviewing the search results and selecting a scene, users will be able to download all bands or select and download selected bands.  The original Landsat scene mapping grid, Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) or Polar Stereographic (PS), is retained for Level-2 Albers Scenes.
