Welcome to the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK), one of the nation’s key laboratories to study the ecosystems and species of the Northern Rockies. Since 2000, our scientists have tackled critical issues that matter to natural resource managers and the American people.

Welcome to the Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK)—a premier research center advancing science to understand and sustain the ecosystems and species of the Northern Rockies. Since 2000, our scientists have tackled critical issues that matter to natural resource managers and the American people. Our research spans a broad range of topics, including fish and wildlife conservation, ecosystem responses to climate, water and land use, as well as emerging threats from disease and invasive species. We proudly support Federal, State, and Tribal partners and other stakeholders by delivering high-quality data, cutting-edge science, and practical tools for natural resource management. NOROCK scientists are nationally and internationally recognized for their expertise in wildlife and disease ecology, fisheries biology, invasive species, cryosphere science, aquatic ecology, large carnivore and ungulate ecology, and quantitative methods, with applications across mountain and prairie landscapes.

Explore our site to learn more about our work, our people, and the science shaping the future of the landscapes and riverscapes of the Northern Rockies and beyond. Please contact me directly to learn more about our science, share your information needs, and connect with our scientists.
