Topographic Survey of Select Erosional Features within Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, 2023 and 2024 Topographic Survey of Select Erosional Features within Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, 2023 and 2024

Topographic data were collected along select erosional features within or adjacent to channels exposed in Fern Ridge Lake, Oregon, in 2023 and 2024 during low pool. Measurements were focused on features that displayed evidence of past or ongoing fluvial erosion and included landforms such as rills, gulleys and channel segments with knickpoints. The survey data were collected during...

High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Cougar Reservoir, Oregon, December 2023 High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Cougar Reservoir, Oregon, December 2023

In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) surveyed ground control points and coordinated aerial photograph acquisition of Cougar Reservoir, a multi-purpose reservoir in western Oregon impounded by the 158-meter ([m]; 518-foot [ft]) tall Cougar Dam. Aerial photographs were acquired by the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in December 2023 when...

In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) surveyed ground control points and coordinated aerial photograph acquisition of Cottage Grove Lake, a multi-purpose reservoir in western Oregon impounded by the 29-meter ([m]; 95-foot [ft]) tall Cottage Grove Dam. Aerial photographs were acquired by the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in December 2023...

High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Dorena Lake, Oregon, December 2023 High-resolution orthoimagery and digital surface model of Dorena Lake, Oregon, December 2023

In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) surveyed ground control points and coordinated aerial photograph acquisition of Dorena Lake, a multi-purpose reservoir in western Oregon impounded by the 44-meter ([m]; 144-foot [ft]) tall Dorena Dam. Aerial photographs were acquired by the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) in December 2023 when water...

Particle count data to support modeling of native freshwater mussel habitat in the Willamette River Basin, Oregon, 2024 Particle count data to support modeling of native freshwater mussel habitat in the Willamette River Basin, Oregon, 2024

The Willamette River Basin encompasses 31,000 square kilometers of western Oregon and consists of twelve major subbasins, each with hundreds of individual streams and unique hydrogeomorphic regimes and river corridor conditions. In conjunction with environmental DNA (eDNA) sample collection to support occupancy modeling of native freshwater mussels across the Willamette River Basin, bed...

Elevation data to support estimations of stored sediment depths and volume in a beaver pond along Fanno Creek, western Oregon, 2016 Elevation data to support estimations of stored sediment depths and volume in a beaver pond along Fanno Creek, western Oregon, 2016

Elevation-at-refusal (EAR) data were collected in May and September 2016 in conjunction with a comprehensive bed-elevation survey (White, 2025; methods described in White and others, 2025) to estimate the depth and total volume of sediment stored in a beaver pond along Fanno Creek, western Oregon. The EAR.csv file consists of points with xy coordinate and z elevation data. A stadia rod...

Statewide base-flow estimates for Oregon, water years 1980–2023 Statewide base-flow estimates for Oregon, water years 1980–2023

Base flow, the groundwater contribution to streamflow, is beneficial data for analysis of groundwater-flow systems. This data release includes base-flow estimates and streamflow data for 471 Oregon streamgage sites. Categories of data include: (1) site information, (2) water year estimates of base flow and streamflow, and (3) daily estimates of base flow. Water-year base-flow estimates...

Geochemical, environmental, and quality assurance data for springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada Geochemical, environmental, and quality assurance data for springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada

This data release contains field and geochemical data, discharge measurements, and descriptive observations for 261 springs in eastern Oregon and northern Nevada. Data were collected during water years 2016–2023. The data release also includes quality assurance analyses and the results of a logistic model documented in the accompanying study report (Johnson, in review).

Contour Dataset of the Potentiometric Surfaces of Shallow and Deep Groundwater-Level Altitudes in the Walla Walla River Basin, Oregon and Washington, January–April 2021 Contour Dataset of the Potentiometric Surfaces of Shallow and Deep Groundwater-Level Altitudes in the Walla Walla River Basin, Oregon and Washington, January–April 2021

This dataset contains manually developed 50-, 100-, and 500-ft contours depicting shallow and deep potentiometric-surface maps for the Walla Walla River Basin aquifer system, Oregon and Washington. The potentiometric surfaces show altitude at the water-table throughout the region (shallow) and at which the water level would have risen in tightly-cased wells beneath the basin-fill...

Submerged Grain Size Maps in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon Submerged Grain Size Maps in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon

The size and distribution of riverbed grain size plays a foundational role in river morphology and ecology. This study (White and others, 2025) quantifies submerged riverbed grain size at high resolution (1 square meter) across 260 kilometers of geomorphically diverse river corridors in the Santiam River Basin, Oregon, by pairing bathymetric lidar point-clouds collected in 2023 with...

RSPARROW versions of previously developed SAS-based models of streamflow, suspended-sediment, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus conditions in the Midwest, Northeast, Pacific, Southeast, and Southwest Regions of the United States for water years 2000 - RSPARROW versions of previously developed SAS-based models of streamflow, suspended-sediment, total nitrogen, and total phosphorus conditions in the Midwest, Northeast, Pacific, Southeast, and Southwest Regions of the United States for water years 2000 -

The USGS Spatially Referenced Regression on Watershed attributes (SPARROW) model is a hybrid empirical/process-based mass balance model that can be used to estimate the major sources and environmental factors that affect the supply, transport, and fate of contaminants in streams and surface-water impoundments (Schwarz and others, 2006). This data release includes a set of 20 regional...
