WaterAlert

The U.S. Geological Survey WaterAlert service sends e-mail or text (SMS) messages when certain parameters, as measured by a USGS real-time data-collection station, exceed user-definable thresholds. The development and maintenance of the WaterAlert system is supported by the USGS and its partners, including numerous federal, state, and local agencies.

Mapping tools for the 2012 SPARROW models for the Pacific region

SPARROW mappers are interactive tools that allow users to explore river streamflow and nutrient and sediment loads and yields and the importance of different sources of contaminants in a particular river basin. Data can be visualized using maps and interactive graphs and tables, and rankings can be shown by state, major watershed, hydrologic unit (HUC), and catchment.

Flood Inundation Mapper

USGS Flood Inundation Maps, along with Internet information regarding current stage from the USGS streamgage, provide emergency management personnel and residents with information that is critical for flood-response activities, such as evacuations and road closures, as well as for post-flood recovery efforts.

USGS Streamstats (Oregon)

StreamStats is a Web-based tool that provides streamflow statistics, drainage-basin characteristics, and other information for USGS streamgaging stations and for user-selected ungaged sites on streams.

Tualatin River Basin Beaver Study Area

Map of intensive sites and rapid sites where data was collected for the Tualatin River Basin Beaver Study.

Wapato Lake Interactive Lake Level Tool

The water level of Wapato Lake dictates the size (surface area) of the lake and the amount of water that it stores. This web page allows the user to interactively explore Wapato Lake water level data and how the water level translates into lake area and volume.

Depth to Groundwater in the Portland, Oregon, Area

An interactive map provides access to estimates of depth-to-water and water-table elevation for the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area, along with estimates of their relative uncertainty.

Water-use data for Oregon

We collect water-use data by area type (state, county, watershed, or aquifer) source (such as rivers or groundwater), and category (such as public supply or irrigation). Oregon water-use data has been reported every 5 years since 1950. The USGS works in cooperation with local, State, and Federal agencies as well as academic and private organizations to collect and report withdrawals.
