Population estimates for the peregrine falcon in Arizona: A habitat inventory approach Population estimates for the peregrine falcon in Arizona: A habitat inventory approach

At least 50 pairs of peregrine falcons reside in Arizona. From aerial surveys of available habitat and occupancy trends at more than 600 sites searched from 1975 to 1985, we estimated that at least 90 pairs resided in the study area. We project a fully recovered population of at least 190 pairs.

The capabilities of a new wetland dredging technology were assessed along with associated newly developed state and federal regulatory policies to determine if policy expectations realistically match the technological achievement. Effects of winter fasting and refeeding on white-tailed deer blood profiles Effects of winter fasting and refeeding on white-tailed deer blood profiles

This study examined the effects of dietary protein, fasting, and refeeding on blood characteristics of 9 nonpregnant, female white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) in captivity from 23 February to 3 May 1984. Percent weight loss was greater in fasted deer than in deer fed diets of 2 crude protein levels. Fasting effects were also observed for hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cell (RBC)...
