Concentration results for inorganic constituents in discrete tapwater samples, Montana, 2024.
This data release provides the concentration and quality-assurance results for inorganic constituents analyzed in water-quality samples from 26 residential and commercial tapwater locations in Montana by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Environmental Health Program (EHP), Tapwater Exposure Study. The samples were collected between June 10-12, 2024, from both public supply (8) and private well (18) sources. Because of privacy concerns, the exact locations of the site locations are not disclosed. The samples were analyzed at two USGS laboratories in Boulder, Colorado: the Redox Chemistry Laboratory and the Analytical Trace Element Chemistry-Common Services Laboratory. Organic compounds and microbiological indicators were also analyzed for this study. The results and associated information can be found here: Romanok, K.M., Schreiner, M.L., Bradley, P.M., Smalling, K.L., Meppelink, S.M., Givens, C.E., Gray, J.L., Hladik, M.L., Kanagy, L.K., Lane, R.F., Loftin, K.A., Raines, C.D., and Tush, D.L., 2026, Target chemical concentrations of mixed-organic compounds and microbiological indicators in tapwater, Montana, 2024: U.S. Geological Survey data release, https://doi.org/10.5066/P1EQEYVP
