Model application data release for a 2D hydraulic model (HEC-RAS) of the Kalamazoo River Trowbridge Dam to Allegan City Dam reach
A 2D HEC-RAS hydraulic model was developed to simulate flow velocities and shear stresses within a reach of the Kalamazoo River in southeastern Michigan from the Trowbridge Dam to the Allegan City Dam. The development of the 2D HEC-RAS model is described in the associated U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2025-XXXX. This model archive contains all the files needed to document and run the hydraulic models. The directories in the archive are each presented as a separate .zip file and they include "calibration_data", "hec_ras_model", "miscellaneous", "quasi_steady_raster_outputs", "source", and "substrate" directories. These directories include the newly collected water surface elevation and velocity data used to calibrate the model, the model file input and output files, model outputs extracted along regularly spaced cross-sections, the model source code installer, newly collected channel substrate data, and raster outputs of the quasi-steady flow simulations, respectively. Additionally, there is a readme file that describes the contents of this model application and how to run the model.
