National Groundwater Monitoring Network 2016-2017
The National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (NGWMN) is a compilation of selected wells monitoring groundwater aquifers all around the nation. The NGWMN Data Portal brings groundwater data together in one place to provide users with current and reliable information for the planning, management, and development of groundwater resources.
Objectives:
- Update the National Groundwater Monitoring (NGWMN) with missing lithology and well-construction data for wells in the High Plains Aquifer of Colorado.
- Update information for five groundwater wells in the Piceance Basin of western Colorado.
- Complete National Water Information System (NWIS) data records for NGWMN wells updated within the High Plains Aquifer and the Piceance Basin of Colorado.
National Groundwater Monitoring Network 2016-2017
Groundwater Data for Colorado
The USGS annually monitors groundwater levels in thousands of wells in the United States. Groundwater level data are collected and stored as either discrete field-water-level measurements or as continuous time-series data from automated recorders.
Below are data or web applications associated with this project.
National Ground-Water Monitoring Network (NGWMN) Data Portal
The NGWMN Data Portal provides access to groundwater data from multiple, dispersed databases in a web-based mapping application. The Portal contains current and historical data including water levels, water quality, lithology, and well construction.
