Composite relative risk indices for dreissenid mussel introductions in the Missouri River Basin: scripts and output Composite relative risk indices for dreissenid mussel introductions in the Missouri River Basin: scripts and output

This data product develops a composite relative risk index (CRR) for watersheds within the Missouri River Basin, a region in the U.S. on the front line of dreissenid spread. The CRR is developed using datasets in order to account for the direct and indirect damages from a potential infestation along with the risk of an infestation occurring with a HUC10 watershed. Included are indices...

Historical sea turtle relocation trawling data in the southeast U.S. (1991 - 2024) Historical sea turtle relocation trawling data in the southeast U.S. (1991 - 2024)

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Wetlands Aquatic Research Center worked alongside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to amalgamate over three decades of relocation trawling records. It is USACE's mission to provide safe, reliable, efficient , and environmentally sustainable waterborne transportation systems (channels, harbors, and...

Biomarkers of laboratory-exposed Northern leopard frogs to neonicotinoids: serum cortisol, serum protein, and brain acetylcholinesterase Biomarkers of laboratory-exposed Northern leopard frogs to neonicotinoids: serum cortisol, serum protein, and brain acetylcholinesterase

Data collection of spectrophotometric data regarding levels of serum cortisol, serum protein, brain acetylcholinesterase, and brain protein biomarkers were obtained from blood and brain tissues of Northern leopard frogs exposed to neonicotinoid insecticides in the laboratory.

Esterase enzyme activity from three waterborne bacterial species exposed to five contaminant compounds found in wastewaters Esterase enzyme activity from three waterborne bacterial species exposed to five contaminant compounds found in wastewaters

To explore the capacity of microbiota to reflect water quality, we advanced methods using flow cytometry for measuring bacterial metabolic activity. After exposure of three bacterial species to five compounds that can be found in watersheds (i.e., an herbicide, a preservative, an antibiotic, and two hormones), flow cytometry methodology was used to measure esterase activity.

Capture histories and body size data for a population of mangrove diamond-backed terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin rhizophorarum) Everglades National Park, Florida, USA, 2001-2019 Capture histories and body size data for a population of mangrove diamond-backed terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin rhizophorarum) Everglades National Park, Florida, USA, 2001-2019

We used an 18-year dataset (2001 to 2019) incorporating year, sex, hurricane occurrence and sampling effort to estimate survival using Cormack–Jolly–Seber (CJS) models in Program Mark. Annual survivorship estimates were high from 2001-2003 for both sexes (91-96%) and variable from 2006-2014 (77-92%). Beginning in 2015 survival estimates exhibited a steeper decline (females: 65%, males 75...

North American dataset of ecosystem properties in tidal saline wetlands—Canopy height, aboveground biomass, productivity, soil carbon density, and soil carbon accumulation North American dataset of ecosystem properties in tidal saline wetlands—Canopy height, aboveground biomass, productivity, soil carbon density, and soil carbon accumulation

This dataset includes literature-derived ecological data from tidal saline wetlands across the United States, Canada, and Mexico for the following ecosystem properties: canopy height, aboveground biomass, productivity, soil carbon density, and soil carbon accumulation rates.

Seagrass map, Ship Island, Mississippi, 2021 Seagrass map, Ship Island, Mississippi, 2021

This product depicts the spatial coverage of seagrass beds from 0.5-m color-infrared orthoimagery for Ship Island, Mississippi from early fall of 2021. Specifically, the map includes presence and absence of seagrass beds within a potential seagrass extent that was based on topobathymetric data. A minimum mapping unit of 4 square meters was used for this mapping effort.

High resolution water quality and dissolved carbon data from a coastal Louisiana salt marsh from 2022 to 2023 High resolution water quality and dissolved carbon data from a coastal Louisiana salt marsh from 2022 to 2023

Continuous water quality sensor data were collected at USGS 292939089544400 Wilkinson Bayou cutoff north of Wilkinson Bay, LA gage. Field water quality measurements were collected using a YSI EXO2 water quality sonde equipped with a data logger to capture hourly data using sensors for measuring water temperature, specific conductance, salinity, pH, oxidation and reduction potential (ORP)...

West Lake Boudreaux Shoreline Protection and Marsh Creation (TE-46) 2012 land-water classification West Lake Boudreaux Shoreline Protection and Marsh Creation (TE-46) 2012 land-water classification

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to...

Satellite-derived spectral indices to characterize wildfire impacts on forested sites in Glacier National Park, Montana Satellite-derived spectral indices to characterize wildfire impacts on forested sites in Glacier National Park, Montana

The dataset contains spectral indices values calculated from Landsat imagery, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and delta normalized burn ratio (NBR, deltaNBR). The spectral indices were computed for 1472 forested sites in the Glacier National Park, Montana, over the 1984-2021 period, in areas that were burned or not burned during the Robert Fire of 2003.

Data Release: Insect pollinator crossing of international border barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, March 2023-January 2024 Data Release: Insect pollinator crossing of international border barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, March 2023-January 2024

The data release records observations of insect crossing in the Lower Rio Grande National Wildlife Refuge along the U.S.-Mexico Border from 20230307 to 20240125. The barrier appears to be a partial barrier to some types of pollinators attempting to cross during high wind.
