Organic Analyses
The NWQL conducts a diverse array of methods to measure organic compounds at trace levels in the environment. These compounds include pesticides and degradates, pharmaceuticals and degradates, hormones, volatile organic compounds, base-neutral acid compounds, waster-indicator compounds, perfluorinated alkyl substances and others. These compounds may be isolated from water, sediment, or tissue samples by techniques such as solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, or accelerated solvent extraction. Alternatively for water samples, the lab’s newest instrumentation is sensitive enough for direct analysis without extraction and preconcentration.
