August 19, 2014 - Landsat 8 Online Cache Cleanup Planned

Since launch, nearly 300,000 Landsat 8 Level-1 (L1) data Products have been added to the online cache and made available for immediate download. 

During the first week of September, the online cache will be filled to capacity, requiring a cleanup to allow newly acquired data to be added. The most current and highly downloaded scenes will remain available on the cache.

Once the data are removed from the cache, users will need to place processing orders to receive Landsat 8 L1 products - the same process used for Landsat 1-7 data - through EarthExplorer, GloVis, or the LandsatLook Viewer.
