Oblique aerial view of a debris-flow runout path near Fairview, North Carolina. The debris flow was triggered by heavy and prolonged rainfall during Hurricane Helene in fall 2024. The photograph was collected during a U.S. Geological Survey aerial reconnaissance flight documenting widespread landsliding and flooding associated with the storm.
