Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

DeepFaune New England - Data DeepFaune New England - Data

DeepFaune New England (DFNE) is a model for species classification in trail camera imagery. This model is a re-trained version of the DeepFaune model for classifying European species in trial cameras, fine-tuned to classify taxa from northeastern North America. The DFNE model takes as input cropped images of each animal, which can be generated by an object detection model. DFNE...

The Relative Composition of Late Pleistocene Coral Reefs in the Florida Keys The Relative Composition of Late Pleistocene Coral Reefs in the Florida Keys

The U.S. Geological Survey St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center’s (USGS SPCMSC) Core Archive in St. Petersburg, FL contains a collection of coral-reef cores collected from throughout the Florida Keys reef tract (FKRT; Fig. 1). In a previous study (Toth and Stathakopoulos, 2019), USGS researchers analyzed the upper, Holocene (~11,700 years ago to present) sections of those...

Lidar and photogrammetry point clouds with supporting imagery and GPS information collected during UAS operations at Great Sippewissett Marsh, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in Fall 2022 Lidar and photogrammetry point clouds with supporting imagery and GPS information collected during UAS operations at Great Sippewissett Marsh, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in Fall 2022

These lidar point clouds and images cover, in high detail, the terrain at Great Sippewissett Marsh, Cape Cod, MA on November 2nd, 2022. USGS researchers tested different sensors that collected lidar and images for photogrammetry point cloud data using Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) to look at differences in coverage and elevation accuracy. The lidar data were acquired with a YellowScan...

Data Files for Peak-Flow Frequency Analyses for Selected Streamgages in North Dakota Based on Data Through Water Year 2022 (ver. 3.0, April 2026) Data Files for Peak-Flow Frequency Analyses for Selected Streamgages in North Dakota Based on Data Through Water Year 2022 (ver. 3.0, April 2026)

Data release contains peak-flow frequency analyses for selected streamgages in North Dakota, along with information documenting the input data and specifications for the analyses. The analyses were performed using the methods described by Siefken and others (2025). The analyses are presented by delineated basins in associated child items.

Monthly SSEBop Landsat 30-meter actual evapotranspiration in the Milk River basin (U.S. and Canada) for the growing season (April - October) from 1985-2023 Monthly SSEBop Landsat 30-meter actual evapotranspiration in the Milk River basin (U.S. and Canada) for the growing season (April - October) from 1985-2023

Monthly actual ET (ETa) data estimated for the growing season (April - October) at 30-meter resolution with the Operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop) model (version 2.6) using satellite imagery obtained from Landsat 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, and reference evapotranspiration obtained from the North America Land Data Assimilation 2 (NLDAS2) product for the Milk River basin, from...

Juvenile snowy egret (Egretta thula) locations in the Carson and Humboldt River systems, 2002-2004 Juvenile snowy egret (Egretta thula) locations in the Carson and Humboldt River systems, 2002-2004

Data from a Nevada telemetry study extending 1997-2006 research on historical mercury contamination on snowy egrets (Egretta thula) up to ~ 20 days of age.

eDNA and visual encounter survey detection of amphibians and chytrid fungus in Colorado canyonlands, 2019-2022 (ver. 1.1, November 2025) eDNA and visual encounter survey detection of amphibians and chytrid fungus in Colorado canyonlands, 2019-2022 (ver. 1.1, November 2025)

This dataset contains environmental DNA (eDNA) and visual encounter survey (VES) data collected between 2019 and 2022 in Colorado canyonlands. eDNA data (field, extraction, and qPCR) is for three target species: American bullfrog, northern leopard frog, and Great Basin spadefoot. VES data is for six target species: American bullfrog, northern leopard frog, Great Basin spadefoot, red...

Ocular field estimates of exotic annual and perennial grass cover across the Soda Wildfire Ocular field estimates of exotic annual and perennial grass cover across the Soda Wildfire

Data includes functional group cover of exotic annual grasses and deep rooted perennial grasses within the first five years after the 2015 Soda wildfire across different post-fire restoration treatments. Additional landscape and restoration treatment covariates hypothesized to influence post-fire invasive annual grass and perennial grass cover are included.

Passive seismic depth to bedrock data collected along the Slate River floodplain, CO, USA 2021 Passive seismic depth to bedrock data collected along the Slate River floodplain, CO, USA 2021

Using the horizontal-to-vertical spectral-ratio (HVSR) method, we inferred the depth to bedrock at the Slate River Floodplain, CO, USA. The point-scale passive seismic data were collected using Model TEP-3C Tromino seismometers over 20 min or less intervals with the instruments coupled directly to the floodplain ground surface at 42 non-flooded locations during June 2021. The ratio of...

Data for Evaluation of Nutrient, Alkalinity, and Acid Neutralizing Capacity Stabilities in Water Samples Analyzed by the National Water Quality Laboratory -- 2023-2024 Data for Evaluation of Nutrient, Alkalinity, and Acid Neutralizing Capacity Stabilities in Water Samples Analyzed by the National Water Quality Laboratory -- 2023-2024

The U.S. Geological Survey evaluated the stability of water-sample chemical analysis of nutrient, alkalinity, and acid neutralizing capacity constituents with respect to the duration between sample collection and laboratory analysis, also known as sample holding times. Included in this data release are results used to evaluate the stability of the chemical properties alkalinity (as...
