Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

This repository contains code to simulate the use of YY-males and direct mortality such as harvest or pesticide applicaion as a control tools for different aquatic invasive species.
Simulations for assessing the suitability of YY-males as a control method across life histories Simulations for assessing the suitability of YY-males as a control method across life histories
This repository contains code to simulate the use of YY-males as a control tool for different aquatic invasive species. The code uses the Meta-IPM Python package (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9PW673G) The code for this project assumes the reader is familiar with Jupyter Notebooks, enough Conda and Python to install the Meta-IPM package, and population ecology.
Physical and Biological Monitoring Data Collected from Restored Wetland Units at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Saginaw, MI, USA (2019) Physical and Biological Monitoring Data Collected from Restored Wetland Units at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Saginaw, MI, USA (2019)
Data represent physical (water quality, water nutrient analysis) and biological (fish, macroinvertebrate, and vegetation community) collections from the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge in Saginaw, MI, USA (specifically, historical management unit "Pool 1A" and the North and South management units of the Maankiki Marsh Complex.) The North and South management units of the Maankiki...
Continuous water quality sensor data from the main channel and a backwater of the Upper Mississippi River from 2015-2018 Continuous water quality sensor data from the main channel and a backwater of the Upper Mississippi River from 2015-2018
This dataset includes high-frequency sensor data collected during four consecutive summers from buoys deployed at main channel and backwater sites in Pool 8 of the Upper Mississippi River from 2015-2018. It also includes the event-specific concentration-discharge metrics (hysteresis and slope) calculated by combining the water quality sensor data with discharge data from a nearby USGS...
San Francisco Bay Area Reconnaissance Landslide Inventory, January 2023 San Francisco Bay Area Reconnaissance Landslide Inventory, January 2023
From late December 2022 to January 2023, a series of atmospheric river storms produced widespread landsliding in the San Francisco Bay area of California. USGS scientists performed reconnaissance field work to document the extent of landsliding in the region and compiled reports of landslides from media and California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports. This data release documents locations of...
Data used to prioritize the selection of river basins for intensive monitoring and assessment by the U.S. Geological Survey Data used to prioritize the selection of river basins for intensive monitoring and assessment by the U.S. Geological Survey
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) developed a systematic, quantitative approach to prioritize candidate basins that can support the assessment and forecasting objectives of the major USGS water science programs. Candidate basins were the level-4 hydrologic units (HUC4) with some of the smaller HUC4s being combined (hereafter referred to as modified HUC4 basins). Candidate basins for the...

The data set consists of capture information on individual box turtles at Patuxent Research Refuge Laurel, MD. Location, date, morphometrics, and other information.
Supporting files for particle tracking simulations of the May 5, 2021 dye release experiment on the Missouri River at Searcys Bend, near Columbia, Missouri Supporting files for particle tracking simulations of the May 5, 2021 dye release experiment on the Missouri River at Searcys Bend, near Columbia, Missouri
This project contains data and supporting files from hydrodynamic and particle tracking models of the Missouri River at Searcys Bend developed in conjunction with an experimental dye release at the study site on March 5, 2021. The main objectives of this effort were to develop a hydrodynamic model using topographic and flow data collected in the field for subsequent use in a particle...
Whole-rock chemistry of core from serpentinite mud volcanoes, Northern Mariana subduction zone Whole-rock chemistry of core from serpentinite mud volcanoes, Northern Mariana subduction zone
We present whole-rock geochemical analyses of 12 core samples obtained from three serpentinite mud volcanoes (Yinazao, Asut Tesoru, and Fantangisna) located on the forearc of the Mariana subduction system, where the Pacific Plate descends beneath the Philippine Sea Plate. The core was collected during International Ocean Discovery Program Expedition 366 of 2016-2017. The materials...
Geospatially derived environmental characteristics to prioritize watersheds for research and monitoring needs within 18 hydrologic regions across the United States Geospatially derived environmental characteristics to prioritize watersheds for research and monitoring needs within 18 hydrologic regions across the United States
Water availability for human and ecosystem needs is a function of both water quantity and water quality, as described in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Water Science Strategy (Evenson and others, 2013). Recently, a quantitative approach to prioritize candidate watersheds for monitoring investment was developed to understand changes in water availability and advance the objectives of...
Habitat Risk Software Habitat Risk Software
The Habitat Risk Software leverages a previously published Bayesian hierarchical model framework (Clayton and Kaldor 1987; Banderjee et al. 2004; Gelman et al. 2004; Evans et al. 2016) with opportunistic (hunter-harvest) wildlife surveillance disease testing data and publicly available geospatial (raster) data to estimate the geographical risk that a hunter will harvest a white-tailed...
