Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Predicting climate change impacts on poikilotherms Predicting climate change impacts on poikilotherms
This software involves files to fit the physiologically-guided abundance (PGA) model ('fish_predictions_pga.R'), a naive model ('fish_predictions_naive.R'), and a PGA model using simulated data ('PGA_sim.R'). Each R file calls as associated .stan file that contains the model code that is executed by stan when running the R code ('fish_prediction.stan', 'fish_prediction_naive.stan', and...
Basin Characteristics Data for the StreamStats Application in the Mystic River Basin, Massachusetts Basin Characteristics Data for the StreamStats Application in the Mystic River Basin, Massachusetts
The U.S. Geological Survey’s StreamStats program is a publicly-accessible web application (https://streamstats.usgs.gov) that can be used to delineate drainage areas, compute basin characteristics, and estimate flow statistics for user-selected locations on streams. StreamStats services are typically implemented at the statewide or watershed scale (referred to as state or basin...

SUTRA model used to evaluate long-term groundwater availability in the Waihee, Iao, and Waikapu aquifer systems, Maui, Hawaii SUTRA model used to evaluate long-term groundwater availability in the Waihee, Iao, and Waikapu aquifer systems, Maui, Hawaii
Groundwater levels have declined since the 1940s in the Wailuku area of central Maui, Hawaii, on the eastern flank of West Maui volcano, mainly in response to increased groundwater withdrawals. Available data since the 1980s also indicate a thinning of the freshwater lens and an increase in chloride concentrations of pumped water from production wells. These trends, combined with...
Aerial photogrammetry data and products of the North Carolina coast Aerial photogrammetry data and products of the North Carolina coast
This data release presents structure-from-motion (SfM) products derived from aerial imagery collected along the North Carolina coast in response to storm events and the recovery process. U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) researchers use the aerial imagery and products to assess future coastal vulnerability, nesting habitats for wildlife, and provide data for hurricane impact models. This...
Rain measurements in and near the CZU Lightning Complex Fire area, Santa Cruz Mountains, California, 2021 to 2022 Rain measurements in and near the CZU Lightning Complex Fire area, Santa Cruz Mountains, California, 2021 to 2022
Rainfall measurements were collected in and near the CZU Lightning Complex Fire (hereafter, "CZU Fire") burn area, Santa Cruz Mountains, California. The CZU Fire ignited in the Santa Cruz Mountains, California, on August 16, 2020. By the time of full containment on September 22, 2020, the fire had burned 350 km2 (86,510 acres) in Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties. The U.S. Geological...
