Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

U.S. Streamflow Drought During the Last Century: annual drought and low flow metrics, annual climate, and trends for the periods 1921-, 1951- and 1981-2020 (ver. 1.1, August 2025) U.S. Streamflow Drought During the Last Century: annual drought and low flow metrics, annual climate, and trends for the periods 1921-, 1951- and 1981-2020 (ver. 1.1, August 2025)

This dataset contains annual flow metrics quantifying drought and low streamflows for USGS GAGES-2 gages in the contiguous U.S. satisfying data completeness checks for the periods 1921-2020, 1951-2020, and 1981-2020. The dataset also contains annual climate variables from the USGS Monthly Water Balance Model (MWBM). The dataset provides trend analysis outputs for annual drought and low...

Electrical Conductance Maps of the Great Basin, USA Electrical Conductance Maps of the Great Basin, USA

Images of subsurface electrical conductivity are useful for locating fluids and other electrically conductive phases at depth in the Earth. This data release presents electrical conductance maps estimated from a 3D model of the Great Basin, USA, at five different depth ranges, spanning 2 to 200 km depth. Electrical conductance is the integration of electrical conductivity in a depth...

Collection of COAWST model forecast for the US East Coast and Gulf of Mexico Collection of COAWST model forecast for the US East Coast and Gulf of Mexico

The COAWST modeling system has been used to simulate ocean and wave processes along the of US East Coast and Gulf of Mexico. The grid has a horizontal resolution of approximately 5km and is resolved with 16 vertical terrain following levels. The model has been executed on a daily basis since 2010 with outputs written every hour. Data access is available through a Globus access portal...

Digital database of the previously published map showing geology, structure, and oil and gas fields in the Sterling 1 degree x 2 degrees quadrangle, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas Digital database of the previously published map showing geology, structure, and oil and gas fields in the Sterling 1 degree x 2 degrees quadrangle, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas

This release contains geospatial data digitized from the Map Showing Geology, Structure, and Oil and Gas Fields in the Sterling 1x2 Degree Quadrangle, Colorado, Nebraska, and Kansas (Scott, 1978) and was compiled as part of the National Geologic Synthesis project. The geospatial data depicts the geology of this quadrangle, which is dominated by Quaternary alluvial and aeolian deposits...

Characterization of the Impact of Agricultural Conservation Practices on Natural Resource Concerns in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Characterization of the Impact of Agricultural Conservation Practices on Natural Resource Concerns in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides funding and technical assistance for the implementation of practices that enable people to conserve, maintain, or improve soil, water, and related natural resources. NRCS conservation practices, or best management practices, relate the conservation practices to conservation practice physical effects...

X-ray Fluorescence Geochemistry of Columbia River Basalt Group Rocks in the Western Columbia River Gorge X-ray Fluorescence Geochemistry of Columbia River Basalt Group Rocks in the Western Columbia River Gorge

This table contains geochemical data collected for whole-rock samples from the Columbia River Basalt Group in the western Columbia River Gorge in Oregon and Washington. Most samples were collected by Russell C. Evarts and Richard M. Conrey from 2002 to 2014. Samples were collected during traverses along roads, streams, ridgecrests, and other areas as part of ongoing geologic mapping...
