Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Daily streamflow performance benchmark defined by D-score (v0.1) for the National Water Model Retrospective (v2.1) at benchmark streamflow locations Daily streamflow performance benchmark defined by D-score (v0.1) for the National Water Model Retrospective (v2.1) at benchmark streamflow locations

This data release contains the D-score (version 0.1) daily streamflow performance benchmark results for the National Water Model (NWM) Retrospective version 2.1 computed at streamgage benchmark locations (version 1) as defined by Foks and others (2022). Model error was determined by evaluating predicted daily mean streamflow (aggregated from an hourly timestep) versus observed daily mean...

Fish Communities of the Nearshore Beaufort Sea, Alaska, Across Three Decades, 1988-2019 Fish Communities of the Nearshore Beaufort Sea, Alaska, Across Three Decades, 1988-2019

This dataset contains two tables comprising catch per unit effort (CPUE) data and length measurements from fish surveys conducted in the nearshore Beaufort Sea, Alaska, between 1988 and 2019. Historical data collected by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) includes fish catch and fish length data (measured from a subset of the total catch) from two eras, 1988-1991 and 2003-2005...

Olivine and glass major and minor element chemistry for select eruptions of Kilauea Volcano, Hawai'i as measured by electron microprobe, with secondary standard analyses.

Lake trout hatch rates using adults collected in 2019 from Northern Refuge, Lake Michigan Lake trout hatch rates using adults collected in 2019 from Northern Refuge, Lake Michigan

Data includes hatch, unfertilized, underdeveloped, and larval mortality count data of lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) eggs fertilized from adult gametes collected within Northern Refuge reefs in Lake Michigan conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey Great Lakes Science Center during Fall 2019 gill net survey. Adult lake trout were collected using gill net (4.5, 5.5, and 6.0 inch) panels...

Burn probability predictions for the state of California, USA using an optimal set of spatio-temporal features. Burn probability predictions for the state of California, USA using an optimal set of spatio-temporal features.

Burn probability (BP) models the likelihood that a location could burn. However, predicting BP is extremely challenging, because fire behavior varies strongly among landscapes and with changing weather conditions and wildfire spread simulations are computationally intensive and require integration of data with large spatial and temporal variability. In this data release we include the...
