Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Remotely sensed observations using Landsat time-series from 2013-2023 to determine water savings for riparian corridor sites in the Lower Colorado River Basin affected by tamarisk defoliation Remotely sensed observations using Landsat time-series from 2013-2023 to determine water savings for riparian corridor sites in the Lower Colorado River Basin affected by tamarisk defoliation

These spatial and tabular data were compiled to have a decades-long record of the water usage in the riparian corridor for 27 selected sites where tamarisk (Tamarix spp) or saltcedar defoliation was reported by ground observations and/or exhibited in Google Imagery at locations across the Lower Colorado River Basin. Data for these sites was measured remotely for plant health as...

Greater Sage-grouse and Common Raven Demographic and Count Data Before and After Egg-oiling Treatments of Raven Nests at Control and Treatment Sites Greater Sage-grouse and Common Raven Demographic and Count Data Before and After Egg-oiling Treatments of Raven Nests at Control and Treatment Sites

These data contain field and analytical data used to evaluate the effects of applying non‑toxic oil to common raven (Corvus corax) eggs on both raven reproductive success and demographic responses of co‑occurring greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) populations across sagebrush ecosystems in Nevada and California. Data include: (1) Raven nest monitoring data (nest locations...

Processed sUAS products from Sulphur Creek near Wilbur Hot Springs, northern California Coast Ranges Processed sUAS products from Sulphur Creek near Wilbur Hot Springs, northern California Coast Ranges

This data release contains small uncrewed aircraft system (sUAS) products acquired from Sulphur Creek near Wilbur Hot Springs in Colusa County, California. The dataset includes: (1) high-resolution visible light orthomosaics, (2) a digital surface model (DSM) derived from structure-from-motion photogrammetry using visible imagery, (3) a raw thermal orthomosaic, (4) a calibrated thermal...

Effects of vegetation and soils surface disturbance and reclamation on invasive annual grasses: an annotated bibliography to inform environmental effects analyses related to oil and gas development Effects of vegetation and soils surface disturbance and reclamation on invasive annual grasses: an annotated bibliography to inform environmental effects analyses related to oil and gas development

This data release includes citation details, abstracts, and results of a semi-automated content analysis for 171 publications we identified on the topic of the potential effects of vegetation and soils surface disturbance and reclamation associated with oil and gas development on invasive annual grass establishment and spread. Our goal was to develop a structured literature search and...

Geophysical grids, horizontal gradient maxima and depth to bedrock of the Blythe region, California and Arizona Geophysical grids, horizontal gradient maxima and depth to bedrock of the Blythe region, California and Arizona

This data release contains (1) geophysical grids, (2) horizontal gravity and residual magnetic gradient maxima and (3) inputs to a gravity inversion of Cenozoic basin thickness based on gravity measurements of the Blythe region of California and Arizona. Gridded data (geotiffs.zip) consist of the input isostatic gravity grid as well as grids of Cenozoic basin thickness and bedrock...
