The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

WaveLab WaveLab
The WaveLab software was designed to extract sea and barometric pressure data from selectively deployed instruments, calculate water levels, and finally compute wave statistics where applicable. There is also a utility to extract slices from the sea and barometric pressure time series for multiple purposes including getting values of interest and cropping out spurious values. The output...

This dataset contains data collected on various vessel operations on the Great Lakes and their connecting channels, primarily the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, and western Lake Erie, although other locations have been sampled and included in this dataset. This dataset contains the field variables, environmental conditions, larval catches (numbers), larval fish...
Principal facts of regional gravity data in the central Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and northeastern Wisconsin Principal facts of regional gravity data in the central Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and northeastern Wisconsin
Gravity data were collected from 2016 through 2019 to assist in mapping surface and subsurface geology in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and in neighboring northeastern Wisconsin. This data release provides principal facts for 1536 new gravity stations that were acquired to supplement existing public gravity data coverage.
