Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Waterfalls and Rapids in the Conterminous United States Linked to the National Hydrography Datasets V2.0 Waterfalls and Rapids in the Conterminous United States Linked to the National Hydrography Datasets V2.0
This GeoJSON dataset contains information about 10780 waterfall and 1080 rapid locations (referred to as falls throughout the metadata) and characteristics (e.g. type and height) for the conterminous United States. This dataset centralizes known information about falls while providing basic quality control (i.e. resolving duplicate records and spatial accuracy checks) and linkages to...
Audiomagnetotelluric survey to characterize the Sunnyside porphyry copper system in the Patagonia Mountains, Arizona Audiomagnetotelluric survey to characterize the Sunnyside porphyry copper system in the Patagonia Mountains, Arizona
This dataset includes audiomagnetotelluric (AMT) sounding data collected in 2008 in and near the Patagonia Mountains of southern Arizona. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) conducted a series of multidisciplinary studies as part of the Assessment Techniques for Concealed Mineral Resources project funded by the USGS Minerals Resources Program in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service...
Shore Proximal Marsh Sediment Deposition and Ancillary Data From Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Mississippi, From July 2018 to January 2020 (Version 2.0) Shore Proximal Marsh Sediment Deposition and Ancillary Data From Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Mississippi, From July 2018 to January 2020 (Version 2.0)
To better understand sediment deposition in marsh environments, scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey, St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (USGS-SPCMSC) selected four study sites (Sites 5, 6, 7, and 8) along the Point Aux Chenes Bay shoreline of the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GNDNERR), Mississippi. These datasets were collected to serve as baseline...
Comprehensive Global Database of Earthquake-Induced Landslide Events and Their Impacts Comprehensive Global Database of Earthquake-Induced Landslide Events and Their Impacts
Currently, there are many datasets describing landslides caused by individual earthquakes, and global inventories of earthquake-induced landslides (EQIL). However, until recently, there were no datasets that provide a comprehensive description of the impacts of earthquake-induced landslide events. In this data release, we present an up-to-date, comprehensive global database containing...
High-resolution object-based image classifications of biological soil crusts and vegetation (Beef Basin, Utah) High-resolution object-based image classifications of biological soil crusts and vegetation (Beef Basin, Utah)
This dataset contains 10 classified raster images identifying the distribution and condition of biological soil crusts using high-resolution imagery from Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Also included are: a supplemental accuracy report and accuracy matrix for each classified image, and all associated accessory files. These images are located in Beef Basin, Southeastern Utah, and focuses...
Forest Canopy Gap Data Products: Mississippi & Illinois Rivers (partial coverage) Forest Canopy Gap Data Products: Mississippi & Illinois Rivers (partial coverage)
As part of Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR) Program, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is conducting a study to understand what environmental factors are contributing to the failure of floodplain forests to regenerate. Broken Forest Canopy Identified by Lidar data sets: As part of Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is...
