The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Streamflow and stream temperature data from the northern Rocky Mountains (2012 - 2023) Streamflow and stream temperature data from the northern Rocky Mountains (2012 - 2023)

Stream temperature data and streamflow data from headwater streams in the upper Snake River basin, Wyoming and upper Yellowstone River basin and Flathead River basin in Montana. These datasets were assembled to assess how stream temperature and streamflow in headwater streams deviates from downstream gages in order to better understand tools to estimate streamflow at a variety of...

Data for Annual maps of ecological states for two ecological site groups in the Upper Colorado River Basin during 1986-2022 Data for Annual maps of ecological states for two ecological site groups in the Upper Colorado River Basin during 1986-2022

These data were compiled to support ecosystem monitoring and management and to inform ecological transition probabilities and drivers. Objective(s) of our study were to produce maps of ecological states each year during 1986-2022 within two dominant ecological site groups (ESGs) in our study area. These data represent annual time series digital maps of ecological states in the Semiarid...

Cyanobacterial Toxin Concentrations from Solid Phase Adsorption Toxin Tracking (SPATT) Samplers, Water, and Field Water-Quality Data from Monitoring Sites on the Clinch River from 2020-2023 Cyanobacterial Toxin Concentrations from Solid Phase Adsorption Toxin Tracking (SPATT) Samplers, Water, and Field Water-Quality Data from Monitoring Sites on the Clinch River from 2020-2023

In cooperation with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK), the U.S. Geological survey (USGS) collected cyanobacterial toxin concentrations (i.e., microcystin, anatoxin, cylindrospermopsin, and saxitoxin) and water-quality field data at 4 sites on the Clinch River from November 2020 to December 2023. The goal for the sample data was to...

Cyanobacterial Toxin Concentrations from Solid Phase Adsorption Toxin Tracking (SPATT) Samplers, Water, and Field Water-Quality Data from North-central Tennessee Reservoirs and Two Wells from 2022-2024 Cyanobacterial Toxin Concentrations from Solid Phase Adsorption Toxin Tracking (SPATT) Samplers, Water, and Field Water-Quality Data from North-central Tennessee Reservoirs and Two Wells from 2022-2024

In cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) measured cyanobacterial toxin concentrations (i.e., microcystin, anatoxin, cylindrospermopsin, and saxitoxin) and collected water-quality field data at 18 sites in North-central Tennessee from August 2022 to November 2024. Additionally, selected sites also were sampled...

Current and future hydrology and occupancy predictions for boreal toads (Anaxyrus boreas boreas) in the Southern Rocky Mountains Current and future hydrology and occupancy predictions for boreal toads (Anaxyrus boreas boreas) in the Southern Rocky Mountains

These data consist of three primary types of products for managers of boreal toads in the Southern Rocky Mountains: 1) Re-constructed hydroperiods for historical breeding sites from LANDSAT imagery from 1985-2022 (SMA_hydroperiod_reconstruction.csv). This dataset was developed using a Spectral Mixture Analysis (SMA). 2) Current (1985-2022) and future (2040-2069) predictions of...

Chesapeake Bay Hyper-Resolution Hydrography Database Chesapeake Bay Hyper-Resolution Hydrography Database

The Chesapeake Bay Hyper-Resolution Hydrography Database is intended to facilitate analysis of the landscape in the Chesapeake Bay watershed through identification of headwater and other low-order streams or drainage features (e.g. ditches) that, to date, may be absent from existing hydrography data products. A full description of the methodology and accuracy assessment is provided in...
