The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Chirp Sub-Bottom Profile Geophysical Data Collected in 2024 Offshore of Breton Island, Louisiana Chirp Sub-Bottom Profile Geophysical Data Collected in 2024 Offshore of Breton Island, Louisiana

As part of the Breton Island Post Construction Monitoring project, scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center conducted a nearshore geophysical survey in August 2024 to map the borrow site created during the Breton Island, Louisiana (LA) restoration effort that began in December 2020. The restoration effort was part of the Deepwater...

Salinity and Temperature Data for South Florida Estuarine Mollusks (1994-present) Salinity and Temperature Data for South Florida Estuarine Mollusks (1994-present)

The Salinity and Temperature Data for South Florida Estuarine Mollusks (1994-present) database contains salinity and temperature readings from modern monitoring sites where live mollusks were observed during fieldwork performed from 1994 to present, salinity and temperature summary statistical data for each species, and location information about the sites where the monitoring data were...

Gage Height, Turbidity, and Acoustic Backscatter Data Collected During Experimental Sediment Release from Willwood Dam on the Shoshone River in Park County, Wyoming, April 11-13, 2023 Gage Height, Turbidity, and Acoustic Backscatter Data Collected During Experimental Sediment Release from Willwood Dam on the Shoshone River in Park County, Wyoming, April 11-13, 2023

The Willwood Working Group Two of Wyoming conducted an experimental sediment release from Willwood Dam from April 11-13, 2023. The experiment involved opening sluice gates at the base of Willwood Dam to draw down the dam pool which created energy to mobilize sediment deposits behind the dam. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released up to 4,000 cubic feet per second from Buffalo Bill Dam...

Data Release of Geochemical, Geochronologic, and Isotopic Data for Proterozoic rocks from the Mountain Pass REE deposit and its host rocks, Arizona, California, and Nevada Data Release of Geochemical, Geochronologic, and Isotopic Data for Proterozoic rocks from the Mountain Pass REE deposit and its host rocks, Arizona, California, and Nevada

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release includes whole-rock major, trace, and rare earth element geochemical data, whole-rock and mineral Nd-Pb-Sr isotopic data collected by thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS), and uranium-lead isotopic data collected by Sensitive High Resolution Ion Microprobe-Reverse Geometry (SHRIMP-RG) methods that characterize the Mountain Pass Rare...

Database for the bedrock geologic map of the Woodstock quadrangle, Grafton County, New Hampshire Database for the bedrock geologic map of the Woodstock quadrangle, Grafton County, New Hampshire

The bedrock geologic map database of the Woodstock quadrangle consists of highly deformed metasedimentary rocks of the Central Maine trough, including the Silurian Rangeley and Perry Mountain Formations and the Devonian Littleton Formation. The central, northern, and eastern parts of the quadrangle are underlain by the oldest rocks in the area, the Rangeley Formation. In the southwest...

Geodatabase for the geologic map of the Buckner 7.5-minute quadrangle, Louisa County, Virginia Geodatabase for the geologic map of the Buckner 7.5-minute quadrangle, Louisa County, Virginia

The database for the Buckner 7.5-minute quadrangle straddles three terrane boundaries in the Piedmont Physiographic Province in central Virginia: the Chopawamsic terrane, the Elk Hill Complex, and the Goochland terrane. In much of the map area, the Elk Hill Complex separates the Chopawamsic and Goochland terranes. Rocks of the Chopawamsic terrane include Ordovician metavolcanic and...
