Data Releases

The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Estimated Streamflow Using Satellite Data for Selected Rivers in Alaska Estimated Streamflow Using Satellite Data for Selected Rivers in Alaska

This dataset provides estimated Remote Sensing Streamflow (RSQ) data at selected river reaches in Alaska. Reach-specific relations between satellite-derived water-surface elevation data and dynamic surface water extent data were used with a modified form of the Manning's streamflow equation to estimate streamflows. The streamflow estimates were used to create rating tables that define...

Monitoring Changes in Surface Elevation Using Deep Surface Elevation Table and Marker Horizon Data at the Nisqually River Delta, Washington Monitoring Changes in Surface Elevation Using Deep Surface Elevation Table and Marker Horizon Data at the Nisqually River Delta, Washington

Surface Elevation Tables and Marker Horizon (collectively SET-MH) datasets provide a unique opportunity to evaluate tidal marsh accretion rates compared with current and projected sea-level rise. SET is a tool that allows for accurate and repeatable measurements of marsh elevation, while Marker Horizon allows for the measurement of sediment that has deposited on top of the feldspar...

Earth Observation Assessment (EOA) 2023 Tableau Dashboard Data Earth Observation Assessment (EOA) 2023 Tableau Dashboard Data

The Earth Observation Assessment (EOA) is a Congressionally-directed periodic evaluation of the nation's civil Earth observation portfolio. This portfolio comprises both remote and in-situ sensors, operated by both the public and the private sector. The Earth Observation Assessment measures the effectiveness of the civil Earth observation system in meeting federal government objectives...

Shoreline data for Ocean Beach, San Francisco, California, 2004 to 2021 Shoreline data for Ocean Beach, San Francisco, California, 2004 to 2021

Beach shoreline positions were derived from 221 approximately monthly beach topography surveys from 2004 through 2021 at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, California. Shoreline shapefiles for local Mean High Water (1.619m NAVD88) and local Mean Sea Level (0.975m NAVD88) were created from each survey.

Community level traits of invaded plant communities in the United States Community level traits of invaded plant communities in the United States

Data were compiled from large trait databases for functional above and belowground traits (e.g. specific leaf area, specific root length, etc) of plants in communities across the United States along with information about the degree to which invasive species dominate those communities.

Computational notebook to plot offset measurements along strike-slip faults Computational notebook to plot offset measurements along strike-slip faults

Summary: This computational notebook is intended to visualize any dataset of offset measurements along a fault, including datasets for single or multiple earthquakes. It is used to plot recent, geomorphic, and synthetic offset measurements for the companion manuscript: Limited preservation of strike-slip surface displacement in the geomorphic record by N.G. Reitman, Y. Klinger, R. Briggs...
