Annual National Land Cover Database (NLCD) Collection 1 Products (ver. 1.1, June 2025) Annual National Land Cover Database (NLCD) Collection 1 Products (ver. 1.1, June 2025)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)’s Land Cover program has leveraged methodologies from legacy land cover projects - National Land Cover Database (NLCD) and Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) - together with modern innovations in geospatial deep learning technologies to create the next generation of land cover and land change information. The product suite is...
Argon ages near Parker, AZ, and Needles, CA Argon ages near Parker, AZ, and Needles, CA
Reported here are argon age data for samples collected to better understand lower Colorado River corridor landscape evolution, the history of the Colorado River, and define the age of geologic units being mapped. Samples of basalts, ashes, and sand were collected in the Cactus Plain southeast of Parker, AZ, the Whipple Mountain piedmont north-northwest of Parker, AZ and washes east...
Patuxent River Basin Environmental Variable Rasters: Climate, Topography, Land Use and Land Cover Patuxent River Basin Environmental Variable Rasters: Climate, Topography, Land Use and Land Cover
Natural resource managers worldwide grapple with protecting aquatic environments and species in the face of intensifying land use and climatic changes. The hierarchical landscape theory suggests that a species distribution is impacted by multiple series of environmental factors affecting the species at multiple spatial resolutions. For a species to inhabit an area, it must pass through...

Volcanic ash geochemistry and leachate analyses from the 2008 opening of Halemaʻumaʻu crater, Kīlauea Volcano, Hawaiʻi Volcanic ash geochemistry and leachate analyses from the 2008 opening of Halemaʻumaʻu crater, Kīlauea Volcano, Hawaiʻi
On March 19, 2008, an explosive eruption occurred at the summit of Kīlauea Volcano for the first time since 1924. This event marked the beginning of a continuous summit eruption that lasted until the 2018 Kīlauea lower East Rift Zone eruption (Neal and others, 2019). The March 19 explosive eruption excavated a crater approximately 35 meters wide and scattered volcanic tephra over a 30...
